ticking sound on cold start

I just wanted to follow up for anyone that might have the same problem. I had this NOTICEABLE ticking sound that sounded valvetrain related on my car whenever the car sat for more than 5 min it would happen. After running for a couple of minutes it would go away. I work for a buick pontiac gmc dealership in the sales dept. they replaced all 16 followers for me and it still was ticking. After a load test with a tech 2 we were able to isolate the sound to cylinder one with a load test. now they are replacing just about every part in cylinder 1 (piston, rod, rings, bearing). I will post again to let you know if this cures the problem

Wow, one fringe of employment at a dealer. Good luck.

Oil hasn't fully been pumped up to the lifters or it's running hella rich and it's the injectors. Most likely the injectors.
