I changed mine in 20 minutes. During that time I removed my spark plugs, changed a tail light on my brothers car, had a pop then put mine in.

Get the one from www.crateenginedepot.com

The new style one is slick as ****.

Remove plugs so engine won't move on you, 32mm bolt on passangers side partway down engine (you can't miss it) is the tensioner, remove (MAKE SURE it comes out in one peice. Mine exploded immedialtly after removal) and then reinstall the new one. Torque to spec and install plugs.

I beleive you do with the old style. Is yours new or old? (Oil pressure used for tension or spring tensioner?) If you can move the pin in and out it's new.

If you have a tensioner in hand (I'm not sure if you picked up a new one yet. I beleive it has 1 hole in it and you can move the pin in and out if it's the new one. The old one has a locked pin and don't drop it becaue it will spring open and set then you need to take it apart and reset it.

Yes. The 2008+ revision of the Tensioner is confirmed to work fine in the 05-07 cars.

Ecotec Timing Chain Tensioner 12608580 - Crate Engine Depot

As Canadian Cobalt reccommended, pull your spark plugs to relieve the compression prior to the change. Some people have had the timing chain jump teeth by not doing so.
