Too Raspy

I have the ZZP combo with the mid-length header and the 2.5 inch down pipe with the high flow cat, and the 2.5 inch Corsa sport exhaust. After it was installed by a muffler shop i had some leeking between the header and dp, I used some high temp gasket sealer to fix that. At idel it sounds deep, but at WOT the exhaust sounds like a FART CAN, loud and very raspy. Is there any way I can tone it down.

probably not. you can either get antoher resonator, or a new muffler. i think everyone is coming to the conclusion that these cars sound like ass.

Another resonator or even an extra cylindrical muffler after the resonator and before the current muffler should help.

I would guess it is your exhaust making it sound like that. I have the same DP but still on the stock manifold and it is bolted to the gm catback and I don't think the sound hardly changed at all from putting that DP on. I think it sounds awesome when you get on it. I know downshifting is much smoother with the new DP, you can tell the exhaust flows much smoother. Mine doesnt crack and pop anymore when I downshift.

Go ahead and get yourself 4 more cylinders. Then it will sound good. Until then you don't have too many options.

agree with brian... it's a 4 banger... and not a horizontally opposed one, and it's s/c'd which is gonna make it sound like an NA motor.... crap

Here's an extreme noob question...

Does adding more resonators decrease performance?

It's a 4cyl. Do you actually expect it to sound good?
