supposedly reduces wheel hop/acts as a stiffer motor mount.

Exactly, it helps with engine movement and helps to reduce wheel hop. However if you want to ELIMINATE wheel hop instead of reducing it, simply get the ottp rotated trans mounts. This will SOLVE the wheel hop problem 100%.

Torque Damper for sure, less vibration in car too from what I've read. If you aren't putting serious power down then you don't really NEED either one.

That's not true at all. Even a stock ss/sc will wheel hop like a ****, you need SOMETHING to solve this. It's pointless to mod a car and make it quicker if you can't get the power to the ground. The torque damper is a band aid, it doesn't solve the problem hence why its cheaper. The rotated tranny mounts will solve the wheel hop issue completely. When installed properly there are almost no vibes felt inside of the car. Save yourself from wasting your money and get the ottp rotated tranny mounts.

As far as ease of install, the rotated tranny mounts would be more work then a torque damper but they are not hard at all to install. The best all around choice here are simply the rotated tranny mounts.

Well mine has hopped ONCE and that is because I was on a bumpy hill... so no wheel hop is not a huge problem unless you are constantly beating on it/going to the track.

You just don't know how to drive. If you launch the car you WILL have wheel hop, especially in a stage 2 car.

If you just daily drive the car and go grocery shopping of course you won't see any wheel hop. But for people who actually DRIVE there cars and race there cars see wheel hop on every launch. The rotated mounts solve this issue instead of the band aid torque damper.

Yeah that's gotta be it...

how bout you realize that it is NOT a huge issue with everyone? If you like to consistantly beat on it or go to the track to get times then YES it is an issue.

EDIT:

Yes I agree with your DD statement. I use mine as a DD, but I open it up and do my fair share of racing... like I said, wheel hopped one time since owning this car.

No you don't understand, you need to realize that it is an issue for EVERYONE who launches there car, period. Anyone who drives there car hard will have wheel hop, your arguing with me over the same thing. Your saying if you go to the track or "beat on it" you will have wheel hop, yes, I am saying the same thing. If you drive the car hard or EVER launch it, you WILL have wheel hop. That is a plain and simple fact for everyone who has ever driven an ss/sc. These cars have HORRIBLE wheel hop when you launch them, period.

Uh yeah, I am not arguing that... I am arguing that it is NOT an issue for everyone because not EVERYONE goes to the track/beats on it. I am not sure what we are arguing about here....

Just because you launch it and get wheel hop does NOT mean other people are constantly launching theirs too...

Anyway I am done talking about this so that the thread can stay on topic.

I didn't say they were constantly launching there cars. What I am saying is IF ANYONE with a cobalt launches there car or ever drives it at the track or ever races from a damn dig they WILL have wheel hop. To solve this issue buy rotated tranny mounts. You do NOT need an engine/motor mount if you buy the rotated tranny mounts. If you want to go the cheap crappy route by the torque damper + poly tranny mounts. It's slightly cheaper then the rotated tranny mounts from ottp but it will NOT eliminate the problem, you will still have wheel hop with it at 100% boost in 1st.

Also I do NOT get wheel hop because I have the rotated tranny mounts, so I don't know why your saying that I get wheel hop when I launch but ok?
