Ok, here we go. I guess I ran 7 times, not 6....

1st run 60'=2.44 1/4=14.78 MPH=97.4
2nd run 60'=2.37 1/4=15.02 MPH=95.07 <---Missed 3rd
3rd run 60'=2.27 1/4=14.70 MPH=96.74
4th run 60'=2.53 1/4=15.01 MPH=96.37
5th run 60'=2.30 1/4=14.62 MPH=97.13 <---Oh ****, I missed this one cuz I moved to the left lane and the guy on the riht got a 14.8 and I thought I was him.
6th run 60'=2.50 1/4=15.24 MPH=94.18 <----Missed 3rd again!! GGAAHHRRR
7th run 60'=2.35 1/4=14.78 MPH=97.25

Thats the night. there was good cooling tome here and there, but these took place over about 2 hrs and #6 and 7 took place about 5 min apart from eachother cuz I couldn't leave with that 6th being my last for the night.

when are you shifting?

you try power shifting? like dont let off the gas and press the clutch in half way and shift.. can shave some time there too

lol, the odds of me missing a shift are prety good, so Id say U wouldn't be in bad shape lol

I shift at like 6,100-6,200

And no, I'be never heard of that. HOLY **** that sounds crazy. HOW the hell. I always thought that just meant Slammin the gears hard. No, Ive never power shifted

I had 97 stock. lol, but I also had better luanch's to back then

haha well our clutch is diferrent than hondas. it doesnt really kill the clutch but yes i know its not good for it. thats why you only do it when racing that or get a stronger clutch, if you would like then put the clutch to the floor. and just dont let off the gas. youll hit the rev limiter, but that extra gas keeps your rpms up

your car is ok dude. your trap speeds are where they should be for stock. your 60' times blow sack though. practice launching and you'll be fine. ALSO, you should be shifting closer to redline (6500 rpm). you are cheating yourself by shifting earlier. dont be scurred of that limiter. if you dont tap that limiter, you arent trying hard enough DO NOT stay all the way in the throttle between shifts. completely engage the clutch. yer gonna break **** doin that garbage.

Before power shifting you should get shifting regular down.lol Before stage 2 I would shift at 6500 rpm and I use very little clutch not even half way and the throttle stays nailed to the floor. I only do it at the track and the clutch seems to be holding up well. If the clutch goes it just gives me more reason to by another one.

lol, well I have my flywheel waiting for a new clutch! But Yea, I guess I'll just have to go practice a lil more, and watch that RPM a lil closer.

Its not that big of a deal. its all driver when it comes down to drag racing and you just simply dont know how to launch your car yet. Dont take that statement offensive but its true. Some people it takes a little bit longer to learn. When I went up to the strip with my eclispe before i got my cobalt SS/SC(months ago), my boy ran a 15.6 in his prelude vtec with a bunch of mods on his but by the end of the night he ran a consistant 14.7. Now when I first got my SS/SC, we never raced from a start because i was taking it easy and then 2 weeks after I got my car I got my stage 2 installed by Chevy. The prelude and I both raced from a start and boy let me tell you, he wooped me by about 2 lengths by the time we got into second cause launching the car is different than my other car. About a week ago we raced again and I told him I had been working on my launches, we raced again and guess what we was head to head by the time we got into 2nd. All im trying to say is, practice makes perfect and after practicing quite a bit, you will get your launches down. How I learned launching, and I dont condone it is I went to an old parking lot where nobody goes and theres never cars around and timed myself from one point to another and found out where the best point in the rpm to launch at is and how fast or slow to let off the clutch. Just dont give up, I have close to 5,000 miles on my car and have had it for a little over two months, took me a little to get it down but hey I finally got it down.

No, I know I can't drive the car good yet. Thats whats killing me. Today i went out for a drive and practiced some. I'm 50% when it comes to good launch's. And out of that 50%, Wheel hop is a big factor. (The Crappy 50% is all bogging and just crap) But I've had my car for about as long as U and I'm not getting much better, so its a lil disheartening* (sp?)

like everyone says, this car is difficult to launch. I have a redline not a balt but still the same. You can't just drop the clutch and not expect wheel hop and neither can you shove the gas through the floor. You HAVE to feather them through the launch to not get any wheel hop.

Practice definitely makes perfect when you get to the track. The track is completely different then a stop light as well.

^ agreed. I wasn't implying to try and practice at stop lights in any means. I was trying to imply that if someone nails the launch whether it be stop light, parking lot, driveway, anything, it is going to be completely different than at a track. 9 times out of 10 they will try to do the same thing at the track and STILL wheel hop.

Personally my driving habits from daily driving and going to the track are no where even remotely similar.

I was thinking om the way home then at the stop lights, I launch good, and the track I suck. I'm looking over what was writen and I think I need to stay a lil morew calm at the line. When I see them yellow lights go on, I start dropping it and givering her gas to get a good R/T. I think When I see it go yellow, I'm gunna treat it like the street and give it a less powerful launch and ease into it. Your post's all helped alot guyys! Thankx from breaking it down.

Trans mounts here I come.
tranny mounts aren't hard to put in, just takes like an hour and half or so very easy, anyway don't worry about you car, just try different launching tech, these cars are hard to drive tho but worth it. i used to launch at 1500 than i got tranny mounts, engine dampner and i got traction bars, i mean there's a slight touch of wheel hop, but if i launch around 2500 rpms i have none. just practice everyone has a different way of launching

even with a tb u cant just dump the clutch on this car or go to WOT, you need to practice and eventually ull get to the point where u can feel the wheels start to slip right befor second. make he shift and youll be good to go.
