Tranny flush
Tranny flush
I have a question guys when doing a tranny flush how many of the Qrt bottles do you add to the tranny, and witch is the best oil for the tranny I would appreciate any help that I get from you guys. Thanks
The transmission fluid is some special synthetic ****. I got mine flushed at the dealer and they had to order it. That would be your best bet, as much as I would hate to say it.
I really don't know to be honest. I know the dealership said it is a synthetic that they had to order so I just got mine done that way. Didn't want to take a risk. But for all I know that Royal Purple stuff is just fine.
here is what i think i got.... http://store.summitracing.com/partde...5&autoview=sku , and its synthetic.
Was it GM syncromesh? For what it's worth, Pennzoil makes virtually the same oil for half the price.
WAIT WAIT, hold on just a second. GM recommends P/N 21018899 for manual tranny fluid in the MU3. Check that fluid before you go putting 75-90 weight in your trans. Every manual trans I have seen in current cars uses auto trans fluid for lubricant. If that tranny isnt designed for it that heavy 75-90 weight will destroy it.
I was thinking about putting in 5w30 full syn in my tranny. Do you think it would improve shifting....?
On a serious note...did you guys notice a difference with changing the tranny fluid to some other brand besides gm? Smoother, quicker, etc etc? I've noticed lately, in the cold, that its harder to get the stick in the gates. All you ohioans help me out. Thanks.
