Trans problems

Has anyone has transmission problems like the clutch burning up?? A guy in my town did and the dealer said they wouldnt warranty it because they said he was driving too agressive. They said they checked his computer and it said he was going 140. They said thats why the clutch was bunt up and that it wasnt covered under warranty.

A) i didnt think they could check **** like that in the computer

B) it shouldnt matter anyway, its normal wear and tear.... They made the car capeable of going that fast right??? Plus they cant prove he was driving agressivly....

I read the warranty pamphlet that they gave me when I bought the warranty and it says NOTHING about if I drive too agresssivly that it vids warranty....

computer holds so much info, they can get the fastest speed the car has gone, the conditions at the time it was happening and so much more.

He bought a performance car, be prepared to pay the performance price when doing stuff like that.

Not quite true
It doesnt routinely keep track of you fastest speed/rpm or anything.
The only way they could know this information would be if a DTC failed at that speed and the data pulled for the Freeze frame /Fail record for THAT DTC.

There is no other "tattle-tale" data recording unless of course there's been an airbag deployment. In that case there will be an event file in the Airbag Control Module (SDM) that contains dozens of pieces of information about what was going on for about 5 seconds before the impact. The dealership does not have the equipment neccessary to extract this data, but the police accident reconstruction teams do.
It's all outlined in your owners manual.

I'm on my third clutch, but the first one was because i tried a 35 shot on it off the line, the socond time was 100 shot in 3rd gear, now I am going clutchmasters instead of SPEC...apparently the spray induces too much torque all at once...it has to be completely cold for it to hold, one or two runs and it has to sit for hours. Does anyone know of a way to keep the clutch cooler?

The Major Guard protection does state that it does not cover manual clutch disc replacement, see non coverd parts at http://www.gmprotectionplan.com/majorguard.html
