trouble getting into gear

About the last two weeks, occasionally, my car has been hard to engage first, or shift into second. It happened today also; I was trying to get into first gear to get onto the freeway, and i had to pump the clutch a bunch of times to engage it; and another time I launched kinda hard, but not racing hard, and I couldn't shift into second gear for a second. Does my clucth have to be adjusted, or is it auto adjust? My car has 14.5k miles, and all this started recently.

Wow! I just got an '06 SS S/C and the same thing happened to me, I was at a red light in neutral, and when the light turned green I couldn't get it into first, I ended up having to start in second.

a good amount of manual transmission problems are external start with the linkage and try the clutch fluid maybe for some wierd reason its overfilled or underfilled, dont think straight to needing a clutch adjustment...my girlfriends brand new SRT-4 is stupid like that when its cold out and the car isnt at normal temp yet then works fine once you drive it for about 10 mins...its gettin warm out now and doesnt do that anymore...what i did was in the driveway before i left id pump the clutch (in neutral) like 5-10 times then hold the clutch in and run it through the gears and on cold days it limited my problem....the gearbox isnt the best.....

It happens alot on startup. Just push the clutch back in and it should go.

well when it happened to me it tried 3 or 4 times, going into neutral releasing the clutch then trying again, cars were honking so i just started in 2nd. It hasn't happened since, mabey because my car only had like 70 miles on it.
