Angry tuning problems

first off ill start by saying my iat2s get way high... like 180. i have the OTTP h/e. WTF is goin on. i need to test my ic pump i guess.
my boost gauge reads almost 20 at times ( not clogged cat, bc i dont have one)

why is my car doin this, please help. i am goin to give up on the cobalt and go a different route if i cant fix this problem.

my mods are listed in my sig if anyone is interested in lookin at them. also running meth/water and thats why were tuning. any one please chime in.

hmm, 180 does seem a bit high with the h/e. like you said, could be that the pump is going out.

pump is dead no doubt about it. do have have a interceptor? i assume so if u know ur temps are at 180. if so after ur pull does the iat2's take a long time to go down? or do the drop right away? ur iat1's and 2's shouldnt be too far apart, no more than about 40 degrees do i ever see with a working pump. with a dead one the gap will be alot bigger, and you wont see the temps cooling down quickly.

forgive me for not knowing 'balts too well but where is the iat sensor with respect to the filter/sc(or turbo)/intercooler?

the high iats and high boost go together, hotter gas in a closed area is higher pressure, ideal gas law. k=1.4 for air.

not just a heat exchanger im tuning for meth injection man.

and ya they will go high then go down fairly to 140 or so after a 1 gear pull and about 4-5 min of highway driving.. so thats still high.... sounds like a pump problem i guess.
it just sucks bc its screwing with my whole tune >

does anyone know if chevy will warranty a pump? my service advisor is a friend of mine. i could ask...

They warrantied mine when it went out.

Tune it with HPT to come on when ignition is just to the on position. If you dont hear the pump, hit it with a hammer. If it starts working then you know your problem.

damn that's some high IAT's! I don't think mine have ever been that high. Hell, I don't think mine have ever been over 120.

You said you are seeing 20psi? On a 2.8 pulley? You need to figure that out.

^like i said, 20psi makes sense with the high IATs. Hotter air is higher pressure in an enclosed volume like an intake. ideal gas law.

iat2 sensor is in the intake manifold, the iat sensor iirc is apart of the maf or in the supercharger inlet?

MAP maybe. MAF is in the intake tube, IAT1 I think.

its most likely the heat exchanger pump.

but there's a slight chance its an interaction between the meth and the IAT2 sensor.

right after we installed my Ottp heat exchanger the pump took a dump, we were data logging to get the tune 100% but the iat's were high for having the added cooling, i jumped from a stock pulley to a 2.8 and 60s, just like the op has listed

so i can drive just cant do any pulls haha cruise for weeks now, new pump is in the trunk just waiting till my tuner is available and we gonna make a beast LIVE!!!!!

im running a 2.8 and no cooling mods and after 3 back to back pulls 2nd and 3rd im only seeing 135 or so
and it comes back down to around 100 in less then a minute so id say your pump is shot

Thanks for all the help guys. We fixed it for now. I hit the pump and it turned on lol. Now my problem is getting the car into 3rd when I'm racing. At the strip tonight I was doin great til 3rd gear then it wouldn't go in... It didn't grind at all or anything. But I think it's the fluid in there boiling. Bc later I did a 40 roll and got 3rd just fine, 4th gear wouldn't engage tho...

Also after a full 1 gear pull in 3rd the clutch wouldn't let go of 3rd when I went to disengage it... Anyone know how to help me here lol thanks guys.

replace the pump, aftermarket tunes tend to knock with high iat2s. too much of a risk just guessing its working. ask me how i know

hmmmm, sounds like it could be your TOB. Or maybe even your clutch rod is bent. Hell, could even be that your Linkage roll pins are stretched.

What's weird is that I can shift into third just fine if I star a 40 roll in2nd. Then 4th ***** out on me the same way 3rd was from a dig. So I don't think it's linkage or and thing. I'm gonna replace all the clutch fluid. And see how that goes for me.
