Tunning the information display?

i was just wondering, with HP tuners can you program the information display on the dash to display other things? Like boost, RPM, Oil temp, Knock retard, and all the other stuff OBDII computers can read?

You can't mess with it unfortunately. Though that would be one SWEET MOD!

Yes there is a way. You have to get an in dash PC, and then run HP tuners through it. Costs about $1000 plus hp tuners.

there are some applications that will monitor stuff like that digimoto was one of them ... 4 simultanious scans can be done though I am not sure if the cobalt will accept it. The interface shown in the movie is obviously a moc up but im sure if someone really wanted to they could rewrite the interface to be more stylish or even user friendly

That would be neat to be in control of what the info screen says, ide like to see the SS/SC guys pioneer this so when 2.2 tuning gets here we can steal it!!

actually, there are a few different options. HPTuners plus an in car computer is one. Then again, I believe that some in dash navigation units, like the avic line can support car monitoring stuff. There is another, I just can't find the site...either way, that **** is esxpensive.

For the original question, no, you can't do it with HPTuners....I wish though.

I don't see why not. I'd email them and ask to be sure.

yes there are pleanty of devices that can plug into OBDII computers and read pretty much every engine paramter. Ive even seen them the since of a 2 inch guage that fits in the guage pod. Ive seen lots of DVD touch screens that can read OBDII as well as the gameboy feature that can do it as well.

I just think it would be so much sweeter if you could program the cobalts display panel to read things, that way you get the nice clean factory look as apposed to the aftermarket look that is never as clean.
