Turbo Lsj Help Needed

I got the turbo in today just not intercooled, (straight pipe where intercooler goes for now) I am haveing a few bugs, If i come into boost a couple times like 1st and 2nd gear back to back the car shuts down and the little yellow light on the dash comes on. If i try to start it within the next 3-5 minutes it starts up but stutters BAD. after about 5 min it starts up ok again and runs fine. The boost controller is turned all the way down (i think its spiking 18 LBS) Ive tried a few different methods (stock tune, stock tune with imported MAF tables, the original tune from the car this kit came off) none of them fix this. Only thing i can think of is that i am still on the stock Plugs (hard time finding some colder ones) What do you think about this situation?

Also trying to make my mond up on plugs

NGK 2 or 3 steps colder
Denso 2 or 3 steps colder

Both are iridiums

You said you put on a stock tune.. just making sure you changed the injector offsets?

How is it hard to find one step colder plugs? You can get em anywhere..

3 steps colder is wayyyy too much.. 2 steps colder in fact is over doing it... 1 step colder will be fine... but thats up to you.

Stay away from Iridiums... Boost likes copper plugs better.

First off, find a way to lower your boost, you don't start tuning @ 18 psi.

Get plugs immidiatly

Next, where is you MAF mounted?

What size injectors do you have and what size did the Cobalt have?

Do you have a wideband? What does it read?

I personally WOULD NOT be running that much boost non-intercooled.

Also, which little yellow light? The engine? Go figure out what codes its throwing..

You are going into limp mode. Thats why the light comes on and why the car shudders when you start the car up right away. Keep an OBDII reader in your car. When the light comes on, erase all of your CELs and it will start right up and run normal. Go get a real dyno tune, you def. need an intercooler, and 18psi with no intercooler and no tuning is not a smart idea. Prob would benefit from a ported head as well.

Just get the plugs from an auto parts store, I don't know why anyone orders them anywhere else, waste of time...

60lb injectors, my old base tune, hp tuners, blow through maf after IC and BOV near the throttle body. He should be running the IC for sure. Not sure why he isn't right now.
