Question Turbo or stage kit?

Ok I have a 05 SS/SC 61k Non G85..Right now my only mods are KN Intake and Dynomax muffler..Graduation is next week so I'm expecting some serious cash flow .. My question is should I stage the car or turbo swap?..Budget is around 1k and I'm wanting it to be safe as a DD..SRT4s are the new honda around here and thats making me lean towards staying SC but I would like some opinions

For 1k, definitely do a stage kit.

Ottp, or zzp kits are great. + cooling mods.

With some practice you should see mid to high 13's im sure. With just the gm stage 2 I was trapping 104 but my launches were terrible and was getting 14.3's and 14.4's. This was my only time at the track though.

I would go with zzp's stage 3 kit and get it tuned.

Low 13s is where I would like to be so those times are not too bad

if you can turbo swap it, although it is about 3x to 4x what you wanna pay, it is worth it. stage3 is fun though. very fun.

It's all about the tune. I'm sure you could run 300-350whp all day, just make sure you got a good tune and the parts your using are not crap. But thats way more than 1 grand.

lmao, there is no such thing as a pulley being to small, its efficiency that matters. I can keep the sc efficeincy great, but it would require me changing rpm limits and ect. i mean revving the sc to 7200 engine rpm wont do harm as long as you arent maintaining the maintnace like coupler, oil and ect and keeping it coolish.. lol I have ran a 2.5 2.6 and ect. eyah the 2.6 makes more heat, but it creates better low end tq. power wise. i have a few guys running and i mean by a few guys like 30-40 guys running 2.8 60s no meth and there around 270-280 with mild aggressive tune. not a ton of timing, a little like say 18*- 19* and eys i can make it reliable and ect. 2.6 wise i dont think any of my guys have dynoed....

Turbo build is not an option for 1k, people often forget with a turbo swap you don't just need money for parts you need knowledge about problems you are going to run into, and solutions for said problems. A turbo lsj can be just as reliable as stock, all depends on how its put together

why waste your money on a stg3 kit with a canned tune when you are going to turn around and drop more cash to get it retuned you can piece together all your all your parts and then get it tuned and save some money
