Turbo Swap?
Turbo Swap?
Hey guys just getting very curious about the turbo swap
Just wondering if anyone has good insight about where to start and what to look for. I know a lot of people do the zzp swap, but I was kinda wondering about the Hahn Stage 2 or 3...thanks!

Just what is the better option to go with, what numbers people are seeing with both...sorry I didn't really clarify on that. Lol also wondering that if I go with the Hahn is it worth getting like their stage 4 or 5 kit or should I just go with the stage 1 or 2 and piece the rest together
well from what i have read on here they both offer very good kits. I went with the kit from zzp and love it. I got way more then i expected out of it and dont regret it at all. Also Ryan @ zzp gave me his personal number for any questions and concerns when installing my kit which i may have took advantage of lol but where im getting at is their customer service was great. I would suggest doing some research on here, use the search button. this question has been asked so many times and there are alot of threads discussing this.
Yea I have researched a lot but I more wanted to get people with personal experience. Most that I read say oh this one sucks or whatever. I was more just wondering people's personal experiences with either kit
I'm located just south of Chicago. Yea I'm gonna keep reading more, hoping that a kit maybe pops up on here. Just looking to get a little bit more power out of my car
You can use either kit, just go with what YOU feel is best and fits what your goals. The Hahn has sum nice pieces and so does the ZZP kit. But they are kits so certain things are compromised for cost purposes. you def need to check out the official turbo LSJ thread that is stickied in the LSJ section of the forum.

An s2xxet from the zzp kit like the op is asking will be/have way more power potential than s/c. No need to try and be a smart ass.
Yea I have been thinking about doing the TVS and e85, but the e85 supply in my area is pretty sketchy. lol I have been reading and talking to James and to really get the real potential out of the TVS I would have to to e85 and meth. I'm not looking to do all that, so that's why I was thinking about just doing the turbo swap and calling it a day..haha
Yea me personally, s/c don't belong on a 4cylinder lol. TVS is ok but you need the higher octane to see the benefits over the m62. Turbo you can pretty much max out the stock motor on pump gas before you need a higher octane for bigger #'s.
haha you make it sound like putting a turbo on a car gives you 450 immediately. You can run an s252 at 300-325 all your life and have a great power curve if you want. Struck a nerve I see. What turbo are you on?..
What turbo am I on? Can you not read?
It's funny though all this talk coming from the kid who just bought ebay junk and put on his car to have a turbo lsj that didn't spool till 5k and prob made 325
How much whp are you looking for OP? anything from 300-350, I would seriously say f uck all the kits and find an LNF take off. You can get alot of the parts that you need for extremely cheap and make the power you are after. I am currently working with a couple of guys that are wanting to do these swaps.
Everyone can hate on the Hahn stuff if they want but it is a nice kit and does exactly what is advertised. I keep hearing how the s20g is old tech? excuse me the turbocharger was fitted to airplanes in world war II, MOST of the technologies that everyone says is NEW is only new to us, they are things that have been utilized in other industries for years.
Billet wheels, VGT, diverter valves, extra fins, extended tips, etc are OLD technologies. Stop fighting and actually HELP the OP, that is why we are here, not for a pissing match.
OP if you need any info plz feel free to pm me and I will answer as many questions as I can. I deal with most of this on a daily basis. Im no expert but I know a **** ton.

Yea I don't have a problem with the hahn kit itself besides the way that they do the oil return and the charge piping is kind've weird but that's due to the compressor housing having the elbow on it(tire rubbing against cp etc). It would be a zzp competitor if it was 1k less on the price tag imo but I'd rather go with the zzp kit and have the room to grow.
Where did I ever say slap on turbo and make 450 easy? Please do show me.

#2 I'm not about to argue with you and make random statements about your turbo setup that I have no clue about.
#3 I did everything myself back when there was little information about anything. There's only 1 way to learn
#4 I'm only trying to help the op and show him a "turbo" setup doesn't have to be big. It can be small efficient and well set up for any power level.
You really need to grow up, kid. Oh and my ebay "junk" you are referring to made 440 whp on dayta's car. My car has never hit the rollers, but that turbo was not junk. Oh and I sold it to another member and that "junk" worked really well for him too.

Same here any questions feel free to PM
I'm looking at about the 350 range, wouldnt mind having a little more or a little less, just around that area. This will still be my DD and I still want to get good gas mileage. What I was wondering is if I did the Hahn Stage 2 kit, could I buy the intercooler and charge piping from ZZP and use that? I have been reading but it seems when it comes to this topic it comes to people fighting about whats good and whats not. Any advice is very much appreciated tho
Ok #1 I don't have low self esteem and need to try and talk **** on a forum to feel good about myself.
