Turbo Update

Talked to the fabricator today...manifold is fabricated.

The holset was too big to fit behind the motor so its being side mounted in teh space where our passenger side motor mount is. Also since were placing it there had to convert it to external wastegate. It should be here tomorrow then ill take it up to the shop and grab some pics of the progress so far.

Just thought'd i'd throw up the good news

Dan

Check out my gallery. I had a turbo on my engine for about 2 weeks, but couldn't get the "canned" turbo solstice tune to work quite right and had to remove it!

I know! I was soo pissed! All of the tuners were on the east coast!
It was awsome, worked great except the engine flooded with fuel under WOT and choked!
If I kept it around 1/2 throttle it was as fast as it was stock!

Great to hear it Dan! If you're over at Jeff's tomorrow night, let us know. No clue what's going on but maybe we'll stop out.

I think you are missing something, like say Vancouver, BC. Get a hold of G5 Mike, he has a shopped all lined up to tune his 2.4.

Here is a funny thing to see... Full 3" exhaust, with the stock tip! I forgot to get a pic of that.

Charge piping is run from the turbo through the front bumper cover then up to the gutted supercharger. The fabricator left it easy to drop an air-air in if need be.

Its a fun car to drive and tune.

Its mostly finished, the car runs and pulls great, just needs fine tuned (PE and spark mainly). It also had an Exedy clutch put in it as well, which is nice btw.

Part 2 of his project involves pistons and cams.

More info posted on the redline forums obviously. Heres a link to the pics I took when we were building it.
