OK, my tuner is out of the game at the end of this year and I was thinking of going with SMG. What do you think of them? Any input about the whole process?

im not sure of an actual number increase yet.. i can tell ya saturday when i get on the dyno.. but its gonna be a good amount.. with my supporting mods i should be seeing 320 - 330 with a decently aggressive tune

im not on the stock pulley though, and i have meth tuned in with it.. depends how far u wanna go with it the gains ur gonna see..

i have full exhaust
meth
2.9 ring for now
k&N CAI
OTT H/E

a few to start with

^^^^ cant wait to see what another tvs with e85 will do. (other than area47)

and for the op, the tvs is a nice upgrade, a very nice upgrade but its in another class, the m62 with a 2.6 pulley will jump harder than a tvs with a 2.8 pulley, but after the initial jump the tvs runs away from the m62.

think of it this way. the m62 with the stock car was good, modify the car a little run the blower hard and the m62 opens up and does its best to give you as much as possible but falls way short.
the tvs is the big boy, toss it on and its a whole new car. with little boltons you wont see much more than a 60-90whp jump. but do a few bigger mods and the tvs shines.

youll see alot of guys with boltons and such with a tvs running 7k rpms making 275-300whp
check out the people who rev a little higher and have a few internals done and the numbers go up quick.

your car will love the blower and you will to,

and fred is an amazing tuner a great businessman and not out to screw anyone. its a great combination

o and yes a 2.5in dp or exhaust will kill your top end with this blower

Well I'd love for Area to tune me, but he's there and I'm here with no HPTuners.

What is your ultimate HP goal?

I made 285whp 265wtq on a M62, 2.7", 80s, Exhaust, Dual Pass, HE, and E85. Here is a chart with that run compared to my TVS run with the same mods on premium 93 octane.

Red - TVS
Blue - M62 on E85

Look at the Tq differences mentioned in this thread. If you have access to E85 it is defiantly the way to go.

Now that I have my TVS back the car is faster then ever. Right now I am on a 2.9" pulley and I would guess I am near 330ish whp. I will be going to the dyno soon.

Get HPTuners and have someone help you tune the car. It took me a few months to feel comfortable tuning the car the myself. But there are some people out there who are more then willing to help out.

as long as u have the 3 inch dp.. i have the magnaflow 2.5 cat bac and it runs great with it.. as the air passes through the dp and arrives at the cat bac the air is actually cooling down.. therefor it takes less room to flow the same amount of air...so the magnaflow will work great for ya.. but i would go 3 inch dp

That was my old setup. CTI mid length combo to a 2.5" magnaflow cat-back. I think it still might be a little restrictive for the output of the TVS.

i had a tvs with 60lb injectors, meth (7gph nozzle, 75/25mix), CA heat exchanger, Injen CAI, header, 3" downpipe, 3" exhaust, torque damper, stage 2 rotated mounts, custom tune (11.9 AFR, 25* timing, no knock, 149* IAT2 after 3 pulls) Only hit 281whp with a small drop in power at 3500rpm (issue with my old tune)...then sold the car and tvs 3 weeks after i bought it and got my 370z...lol. Personally, not worth it. Looking back at all the money i put towards the cobalt, not worth the money with a 4 banger.
