I am wondering the same thing, would the return style fuel system and 80lbers be enough on e85? I wonder what the idc's would be like.

What kind of EGT's do you see with meth and E85?

How high do you think you can push the fuel system by just upgrading the injectors?

Wonder if an E85 conversion is possible on the 2.4L?

Thanks.

my egt's took till 140+ mph to hit 1450

cruising now it sits at 1200 at 70 mph. 1250 at 80. never payed attention to it on the big end.

600whp can be had on the stock pump.

anything is possible, just depends on your budget

Nice numbers. I don't understand the specifics exactly but it sounds like you have the sensor set to gas but you're running E85? Then had it reading 11.5?

if so that's very conservative. VERY for E85
22 deg could be upped as well. Power won't fall off if you up to 25-27 deg of timing which is no problem on E85.

So really you could probably go farther on that injector setup but you're running out of pump (suprised you didn't) but you can raise voltage and meet your needs/goals.

It does sound like there's a timing cushon there. But you would know better.

The only reason I was asking about switching over, is honestly I don't have a clue what's involved with the conversion to E85.

You're going to be living at that pump once you put new injectors in, haha.

One thing I would really like to know from the e85 guys is what kind of gas mileage they are seeing. How many miles will a full tank of e85 last on the highway/city?

It will last less than straight pump gas. It burns quicker which leads to lower fuel economy because of the amount fo fuel needed (9.0afr is stoich). So, it is cheaper per gallon, but also less economical per mile

lambda for either fuel is 1.00, hence why people get confused about it.

right off the street it did 347/288. i just cranked a lil more timing down low and hit 294. 6 pulls back to back and the power and torque fluctuated +/-1. so for 84k miles. my motor is more than healthy imho.

i know i can crank more timing in it. i just don't feel the need to have the car on edge anymore.

fuel side will be more than handled in the next couple weeks

Correct me if I'm wrong, because I'm no tuner, but your "real" target AFR is actually much lower than 11.5 considering the stoich value of E85, right? That number you're giving is just what's generated on the gas sensor? I learn where I can, haha.

At least the conservative timing will allow you to be race ready more easily if you were tune swapping. I just got active on here and this is one of the more impressive builds.

I can't wait to see what this looks like with new injectors.
