The SC becomes a restriction for the Turbo!!! If it didn't, then why the hell does VW bypass the SC and decouple it from the motor when the turbo is on full boost. E-mail the guys at ZZP, they twincharged a GTP, opened up the bypass and used it to redirect as much air as possible. They made it work well for drags but it was allot of work and constant tinkering. That car was fast and my hats off to them for trying it. Buttttttt,
let me get this straight, you build a 300+ HP car just to drive to a car show and let it set. Gothcha, thanks for clarifying that. I have a 69 camaro with an 8-71 blown 406 small block in my shop. Makes you feel like a rock star driving it around. problem is, my car would run circles around it! All show no go! Don't take it personally, just observations i have seen first hand. Time will tell and you will see

Neat idea, I guess-but not practical.

I think you would have to have a big spacer(3 inch) between the blower and the intake manifold. When you reach a high enough rpm the blower shuts off and seals off and the turbo takes over. I don't know if there would be enough room. Tons of work to do something like that but thats the only way I see of running it effectively.

Why wouldn't you just use a little nitrous instead ? Why would you try to build boost before the boost is built ?? That just seems unefficient to me , and will cause lots of heat . I can undersand getting rid of the supercharger and turbocharging , but twincharging I can not , just my opinion .

i think ppl just want to say they drive a twincharged car.

and of course it will offer a great hp increase.

shortly we will see 2 types of Hahn Racecraft fans
1) high boosting turbo with no restrictions and no trouble
2) twincharged... but they want to be different.... just not as fast as the straight turbos

i would love either one.... why buy an ss/sc if you want a turbo tho. just get a scion tC or something similar? :meh:
edit: i kno ppl were saying that turbo lag in this car wouldnt be all that bad with the traction probs.... what do u think a twincharger is going to do. you will be driving on ice down the track :P

im just posting to say thanks. i know these debates get heated sometimes but they are also a great source of information for car newbs like myself.

the information is appreciated.

I dont see why someone would TC the SC , to switch it out but hey, to each his own.

I'm stuck betwwen Twin and strait turbo. I love the sound of the S/C but i too think that there will be reliability issues with a twincharged set-up. Too many things to go wrong, and a clutch type system would be a biotch to get to work properly. That's why i want to turbo. Controlable boost, BOV, higher power, more reliable. However, not as unique as a twincharged or even a S/C car.
