Unlocking a PCM?
Unlocking a PCM?
I bought my car back in august and just recently went to get it tuned. It has what looks like a zap stage 3 kit. I just switched the injectors to 42 lbs. Does anyone have the ability or know anyone who can unlock a PCM? I know PCM for less can do it for 75 bucks but I was looking for someone local if possible? Thanks for any of your help! I have read a bunch of threads and believe that my PCM is from zap. Anyone on here know anything about not being able to tune zzps PCM?

Look on your PCM (its between your fuse box and intake tube)
If it's from Zap, it should say zap on it. Look all over it.
When I looked at mine it said INTENSE-Racing all over it,
so no question where my PCM came from. Cehck your
pulley size though. Im pushin the limits with my 42s
and a 2.85"
60 s were too much and I heard harder to zero in on a tuner. Now I may be wrong but a lot of guys run stage 3 and42 lbs. I have to pass an emission test and I also thought or think that less gas coming out of an injector means less emission to control. It doesn't mater because I can't unlock my PCM anyway to tune to the 60 or 42 so I am just going to get another PCM . It's all preference, I drive mine everyday and don't run on a track so I should be good lowering the injectors if I tune for them. At least that's what I think I may be wrong lol
You are going to be pushing the injectors well past 100% duty cycle. If your car came with Zzp stage 3 it should already be tuned for the 60lb injectors. Bigger injector does not mean more fuel is coming out all the time. Your tuner should have no problem getting them running good. It's been done for more than 5 years now
