Lightbulb Unorthodox pulley kits ...

Since i was surfing on the web, i saw that Unorthodox are doing good pulley kits for different cars, not for the SS/SC unfortunately.

http://www.unorthodoxracing.com/

(You can see some interesting dyno results for some cars at the right of the page.)

I wrote to them to see if they plan to make a kit for the SS/SC and here is the answer ...

"We don‘t have any plans currently to offer pulleys for the Cobalt."
Thanks for your question,

Maybe it can make some ideas for the SS ... have a nice day !

honestly, pulleys are a waste of money. Theyre too expensive for the little amount of power you get. There are some dynos on there site where they only show ~4hp difference. For the sunfire/cav its $190. Save the money for a pulley swap.

I've already bought a two pulley kits from AEM for my previous RSX Type S, and it was accelerating faster, speak of 0.2 second between 50 to 80 MPH, since the max horsepower was about the same (or 1 to 2 hp more).

Some independant testing shows a good horsepower gain for a 3 pulleys kit (with the crank one).

For the AEM kit, the said ...

AEM Tru-Power pulleys increase power by reducing the parasitic drag caused by factory accessory pulleys. Our lightweight pulleys reduce rotating weight and are slightly oversized to maximize efficiency, which nets more horsepower at the wheels.

Like I said, It was noticeable when driving. I have read on a web site this : A mod is noticable when it brings a gain of about 2 to 3 % or more ... so if it is 4 HP more, than it is not 4 HP less LOL.

Have a nice day !

AEM pulleys are a waste of money. I have them on my car. Unorthodox pulleys are better because they replace the crank pulley as well. They give more power plus a little bit better throttle response.
