Thats 64,xxx miles here in teh

Depends on how big of the kit you do. If you plan on a 300+ HP kit, you'll need a new clutch anyways

The stock clutch is a pos and will slip with that set up. Get a spec stage 2+ or 3 clutch and a lighten flywheel.

I'm at the same amount of miles. And I'm still on the stock one. But stock engine also. It still feels brand new. I don't know when the stock one fails on a stock setup. Most people arn't stock on a SS/SC

Run your stock clutch until it dies and dont fail at driving and it will last a bit. My clutch has never slipped and look at my setup

Agreed!

The stock clutch isnt all that bad. Most people experience slip due to poor driving.

yeah the stock clutch isnt that bad mine didnt start to slip until about 350 whp
you dont need a new clutch if you are still on a m62 unless you cant drive and you slip it way to much

The people who are having the problems are the ones who take off from every stop light slipping it from like 2k+ rpms and not rev matching when they downshift lol

95,000 on my stock clutch. My car had a 2.8 and 60s on it for about 20,000 too. I'm now running 42s and a 3.0" and my clutch still holds damn good. Just depends on how you drive really, rev matching and easy not riding the clutch will take you a long way. I plan on replacing mine with the GMPP clutch when it goes. Supposed to hold up to 300hp and people say it's a great clutch for a Modded LSJ.

I'm going to have about the same setup as you infraredline.

You really think the gmpp clutch will hold?

If the stock one is holding up this well I think the GMPP one will hold pretty well. There are some big turbo guys running it with no problems as well. Maxim X goes to the strip with his often with 400+whp and his is holding

You gonne be on E85 as well?

Oh yeah that clutch will be perfect for you then since you will be down about 30whp or so from my current setup. Im going to milk my stock one as long as I can lol, we will see how it likes a ported head and 2.8 pulley
