Updates New motor with pictures
Whats up guys, my older thread kinda died off since I haven't been on in quite some time. Figured id get on here and post an update on the progress of my car. Many of u know I bent a rod last year, and have since had a son and just been too busy to actually work on the car. Specs are a bates sleeved block bored to an 89mm bore. Block was also decked and power honed. Custom 89mm diamond forged pistons with trend wrist pins, spiralocks and total seal piston rings.
Molnar forged connecting rods with arp 2000 rod bolts. new bearings and studs throughout the block. Crank was micro polished, and the rotating assembly was balanced and will be complimented by an ATI super dampner. Engine already had GMR neutral balance shafts, ARP head studs, and a ported and polished head with ZZP 82# valve springs. (was on the stage two blower cams back on the tvs setup, but back on the stock cams for now)
My turbo setup was pieced together, utilizing a precision PTE 6262 CEA dual ceramic ball bearing turbo with the 4inch ported S cover, billet wheel and anti surge ports. Running a ZZP exhaust manifold, Hahn intake manifold with the zzp phenolic spacer, Hahn intercooler piping, precision 46mm wastegate, zzp manual boost controller, a massive CX racing front mount intercooler, and a zzp 3in catless downpipe that runs into a 3in side exit exhaust that exits in front of the drivers side rear tire. Fueling on the old setup was idc1000's, and a walbro 450 fuel pump on E85
New fuel system will consist of a full return style fuel system with at least 1600cc injectors, possible 2000's if needed. Made a lot of progress today and completed the short block. Waiting on my custom head gasket from cometic, and shell be finished and going back into the car. Purchased a new flywheel since when I installed my gmp clutch I had it machined once already. Currently looking at the southbend stage 4 clutch for the new setup although my gmp held 26psi on the 6262 when my rod bent. (550ish hp estimate)
Looking forward to getting back to the track and setting and or taking some more records for the fastest time on a manual trans cobalt. Anyways some pics. Im also in the progress of buying a new house with a huge double car garage that I will have a lift in

yea I was on corn closer to the end of my tvs run. Never did get to run her on the track though before switching to turbo. And yes the torque wrench was 500$ retails at 565 but shes ******* sweet and dead accurate on torque and angle. And I do enough jobs at work that justified it

89mm bore. Stock is 86, and the LE5 uses and 88
