Question Very Simple Question

I am still new to the s/c area. I only had N/A cars in my life. So please don't noob me. I am learning quickly and using the search button to my most advantage. Anywho, I recently received a 3.1 pully. Can i run that until I get my ss/sc dyno tuned. Or should i just keep it in the box until it comes time. I already have a K&N drop in, the pully is on the way, and than it's just a stock pcm until i get dynoed... Will it knock or misfire etc... if i throw the pulley on. Also, recomend a stage 2 belt?

Well you need to up the size of the injectors before you do any tuning, or it will be pointless...

keep it in the box untill you get the 42.5 pound or 60 pound injectors... then throw on the pulley...

then get it tuned to get a little bit more power out of it..

if you can get it dyno tuned, get the 60s, get a smaller pulley than 3.1 and youll be making some power..

mind you dont put in the injectors untill you get it tuned... the car WILL NOT run right...

well all i pretty much want is the stage 1, drop in filter, pcm, 3.1 pulley... i'm not looking to get a huge gain. just a little bit. i heard you can keep the stock injectors with a 3.1. I ordered the LSJ Modular pulley from zzp so i can just swap the pulley. i already have the k&n drop in, than i would get the dyno aka there upgraded stage 1 pcm. the only difference between my "stage 1" and theirs is that there pulley they give you is the 3.25. so if anything i would buy the lucas #42w/harness

i think you have this mixed up...

the stage 1 is the injectors and the tune... the stage 2 is a 3.1 pulley...

basically your asking to get upgraded to stage 2...

Did you get the hub, or just the pulley? Youll need both...

Stage 1 from GM and zzp are different... im refering to the stage 1 and 2 kits from GM...

and the stage 2 kit from GM is the 3.1 (3.06, really)

And really... it is NOT recommended to drop pulleys without atleast a tune.... and really, i woudlnt do it at all..

You did not receive any CELS or anything? Also, I am sure you did not receive any power gains because of the 12 psi boost limit. More so, after you were tuned. Was there a little more umph in the WOT? Not drastic but did you feel the difference

Ive never heard of a 12 psi boost limit....

You wont get a CEL.. it just kills the life on the injectors, and can make them go static (stay open), and thats very bad...

they are maxed out pretty good on the stock pulley, and its just not good to do...

just because it can be put on, doesnt mean it should... be smart about it...

well ... if you get the GM stage 1 injectors, you dont need a harness....

you can deal with the stock belt on a stage 2 pulley (the 3.06) if you cant find one right away...

becaue those pulleys just dont slide onto the super charger, the oem pulley has to be pressed (or pulley pulled) off, the hub is then installed onto the supercharger, then the pulleys are attached to the hub itself, not the supercharger...

I did not see any cel's and I was seein about 15psi, running a 3" really isn't going to hurt the motor because it already comes pig rich from factory. and I did notice a differnce I was getting 14.1's a track with that.

right, it runs so rich that the extra juice that the extra 3 psi is pumping into your engine is over using the injectors...

We understand that it works... what im trying to tell you thought is that its not good for the car... and you should just wait to get everything before you put it on.

I'm listening to Shortstack on this. Since the pulley is on the way, I'm going to order the hub also. Than the harness and injectors. Than ZZP email me that file for a stage 2 pcm. Go over to the dyno shop where they have the HP and give them the file and say this file on that pcm now please Thaaaank you.
