Vibrant exhaust
After spending some time kicking and screaming trying to get this thing on. {i don't have a lift} i must say, it is louder then i thought.
a little background here
it is a 3 inch "cat back" exhaust. nice construction, not sure why they did a ball flange instead of the stock flat/gasket style. it sits on the heat shield that protects the gas tank, have to bend a piece of it out of the way so it won't make funny noises.
install? took me 5 mins to get the stock exhaust off, no biggie. spent the rest of the time looking at trying to figure out how the hell im going to get the pipe over the damn rear axle. IDEA! undo the rear shocks, let the suspension hang. slides in nicely. all the hangers fit perfectly. the tip itself is a bit off centered on the car, i can fix this. over all quality is good, it's not corsa, so i didn't expect a perfect fit.
on the road, it's loud, sounds like a cross between a dsm and a subaru. there is a slightly better pull up top vs the stock pipe.

I just got my Vibrant cat-back done on saturday and must say...I LOVE it..It's not for the faint of heart. Nice rumble at idle, pretty stealthy at easy take-offs and quite loud when you get on her.
I tried to do it on the ground and managed to get the stock piping off but had to pay meineke to install the it. Besides the ball and flange setup, my car is lowered and they had to lift the body to extend the springs so the piping fit over the axle. They also threw an extra hangar in there before the muffler to eliminate any thumping that would arrive from the exhaust hitting the rear of one of the hangars near the axle.
Nice exhaust though..

there is nothing stealth about this exhaust.
in short. it is ******* loud.
im getting some more work done to the exhaust sometime this week to quiet it down.
im not 18 years old anymore, it flat out annoys me with the pacesetter header and custom down pipe.

I'm not 18 either, but my taste for vehicles and loud exhausts differ from others. I'm 27, a Toy's R'us kid, and a die hard GM vehicle fan. I have heard much louder exhausts, but yes, like I said, it is not for the faint of heart. The tone is deep, and it doesn't get raspy.
I don't have any other exhaust mods though, so mine may be slightly quiter then yours. My future plans will entail the need for 3" anyways soooo...To add to your dislike for the loudness, there is plenty of room underneath to add another resonator to see if that helps out. Good luck...

hell im 29, my last play toy, was no where near this loud.
sometime this week im putting a longer resonator on it to quiet it down. i hate drawing attention to myself, the stock car does it on it's own.
dunno. i have yet to go dyno to see the difference. guess at some point this weekend i can

It sounds nice and deep like the ARK, but I think a bit louder. It's 3" for cryin out loud. lol...It's going to be loud. It's not too crazy for me though, hell...I'm used to riding in VR4's with full 3", and Camaros with full 3", long tube headers and no cats...This is quiet compared to what I'm used to. lol...But yeah, it's pretty loud, not raspy or stupid loud though.

i went and had a 18 inch vibrant resonator put in this morning.
just a tad bit quieter. not much.
to make it quiet, or quieter. a new muffler needs to be put on.
i have to live it with it for a while. my funds are dead right now
