That is why selling the '06 SS/SC isn't an option. I already have it and selling it doesn't work for me. It is actually going to be all I really wanted when I started the red car project.
Also if my luck holds up, bad luck that is, I need something to give me my "fun fix" and I can't wrap my head around not having one of my 2 Cobalts.

Well the stuff for me isn't "custom." There's a few small things here and there but that's about it...yours was a one of a kind. Keep hope alive man...keep your eyes and heart to the track and never lift the pedal.

I have the benifit of having inside information on the Ecotec build that came from companies intimate with GM racing and the engine builder has built many ecotecs since they came out in '02.
I hope both of our plans workout.

Lots of work, and lots of money. I'd work on some corporate sponsorship packages, as well as a professional driver. Not sure how else you could get your money back. You need to find a semi-decent marketing company that works with race cars on a regular basis. I bet they can steer you in the right direction. They may even have a client waiting for you, who knows. Maybe they are looking for someone that did something just like this.

I feel so bad for what you are going through. But im glad that through it all you have stuck with it, and i hope that you will finish it.

I think that is you best option, finish one engine, and try and get the sponsors, and then get them to finish the other engine.

I hope it works out for you.

Well I don't really think scraping the project is a good idea. At the point where the car is now, it isn't really worth anything. Atleast if it is finished, it can be sold to someone, and you can get back some of the money. Your so close now that bailing out would be a big let down for yourself, the people building the car and the hundreds of people that have followed this build since day one. When it is finished you may not think that it is worth money that you put into it. But at least you will have something to show for the money.

Maybe you can go on "Pinks" when you get it done and see if you can win a couple cars and get some of the money back! :P

That's a fun idea, but the downside is that he could potentially lose his car in the process....

Well this won't ever happen because I am not a gambling man and losing my car would be the step that pushed me over the edge, for good.

UPDATE

Finally a small bit of good news.

The car is 80% wired and today we have an example of a module (lights) created by my mad wiring guy, Jason.
We also finally have a finished intercooler/intake manifold. This has been a long time coming and I hope it was worth the wait.
The charge piping can now proceed, once the daily driver engine is repaired and shipped home.
I should also have an update on the engine early next week and the standalone is supposed to have the new programming finished late next week.
Could things finally be coming together????

I dont like where they joined the 3/4 thick ends to the thin plate, that looks horrid. the thick plate should have been beveled so that weld didnt get piled up like that.

Make them grind that **** down and polish it.

Polished=teh secks

looks like the welder needs to lay off the coffee too. lol

Im just glad to see things going good for you now.

I really hope so but this weekend could really turn out to be "make it or break it" as I have laid out some hard rules for everyone involved.
