Exclamation Water in the intake,,,,help!

Was driving home today in one hell of a storm. I ran through some deep water where there is usually never any water, even with heavy downpours. I immediately got a MAF cel and the damn thing started back firing and pausing. When I got home, I found drops of water in the intake (injen) tube and prior to the throttle body. I reset the code and let the engine run a little while. Anything else I can do, will things settle out or am I F'd?

Thanks

Only if you completely submerge your air filter.

I've ridden thru water that was to the top of my grille and never had a problem.

I was sporting an Injen SRI

Don't drive your car through huge puddles of water.

If your CEL comes on after a few more (about 3) starts you might to get that checked. What was the exact CEL code you got?

I highly doubt your spark plugs were affected.

Unless he drove through a lake any water that got that far is coming out on the exhaus, very quickly.

OP: Do you have splash gaurds?

Is that anything like an Injen hydroshield remember that they're only water repellent, not water-proof.
If anything it'll keep your actual air filter a little cleaner. Unfortunately, they lose effectiveness over time.
