Water/Meth Question

What is all required to run water/meth properly? If you install it do you have to tune you car, like whats involved with running it right on your vehicle?

To get the Most out of a water meth Setup you will need to get it tuned.
With the additon of the water/meth your car will run richer where it is sprayed.
Addding timing will make the power for you.

you dont need to tune it really unless you plan on adding timing, keep in mind though when you add timing your dependent totally on the methanol being there so if it runs out your screwed

its best used a octane booster and knock suppressor as well as dropping the IAT2s if sprayed pre blower and should knock down the EGT a bit also

methanol doesnt make you run rich, it just increases the octane in the fuel thats already there. i'm running a water/meth set up and i'm not tuned, you dont necessarily need it, but it will optimize the performance

Actually to extract max power out of methanol it does help to run a slightly richer mix. On applications that use methanol by itself as fuel a common AFR is 5:1 because it doesn't have as much explosive potential as gasoline. Plus the cooler IAT temps will cause the ECU to naturally richen the mix.

You are completly off here. I've been on the Dyno MANY hours to see that it does. Last time I checked Methanol is a Fuel. But then I also like to spray after the blower in all my applicatuions.

i dont think its going to richen the a/f ratio that much though. its atomized more so then the gasoline coming through the injectors. its not going to be a steep enrichment is what im saying, plus i'm spraying a water/meth mix so its diluted anyways and its getting sprayed before the blower

that is true... but our cars will learn and compensate for it and you'll be back around you're usual afr's after a week or so

how about using it with the GM stage 3? It has a tune for 100 octane. Instead of using nitrous.

so what if you add bigger injectors? your car will eventually adjust?

Your car can only adjust to differences in air flow or density.

Adding meth will make you rich, you need to take out fuel in PE. Also it's wise to spray after the blower I have the plates if anyone needs them.

I agree. It's the type of fuel that makes the difference, not the adjustments your ecu makes.
