its not easy to take that much out. a friend of mine has his 2000 cavy down to 2250lbs, but it started at 2750. there is no interior, only a drivers seat (a fiberglass one at that) and a dash. he went to the extent of cutting the rebar in the dash out and replacing it with some aluminum brackets. the bumper rebar is gone, just enough aluminum to hold the bumper covers in place. he cut the spare tire well out and put a flat floor into it, aluminum sheet metal or coarse. lightweight wheels all around, being a drag car, 15x8 up front with slicks and 15x3 in the rear. carbon fiber hood and trunk. that put it around 2250. he had plans to do lexan windows and fiberglass doors, but he was planning to run in a class that required a minimum weight of 2200lbs so he stopped at that.

the stock hood and trunk aren't that heavy at all. No need in doing carbon fiber there. What you want though is someone to make you some new doors, as our doors are heavy as ****. That would drop a ton of weight. Someone should look into it.

what about getting rid of the sunroof? we did that with my moon roof in the prelude and stuffed a solid cf unit in its place, the combo of motor wires roof racks and all the rest really dropped alot of weight

i'll see what i can do. but if i can find someone who makes cf doors cheaper than those ones, i may buy them. but they got all their plans and blueprints from gm and thats what gm made them sell those parts atdon't know if its true or not but thats what i was told....)
Hood $1670.75
Roof $1468.94
Deck Lid 1490.83
Door RH 2986.28
Door LH 2986.28

but i'll keep looking in to fiberglass and sheetmetal

I am trying to find low weight parts for my SS as well and I did come across this link for fiberglass doors....I am sure that would drop 100+ pounds in total.

do rims, cf hood, trunk, and a light weight exhaust. that with back seats, carpet, floor mats, spare, jack, and bar connecting seats will make it atleast 200lbs lighter so 2700lbs pretty good.

and xtc ur voting for me for COTM right? im a fellow nor cal balt hook it up

Well it does say racing only. Sunroof probably adds a bit of weight but I have not seen an SC without one (though I know they exist) so the guys without one are already at an advantage.

Better start with the other things listed on this page cause it's gonna cost you a pretty penny for lighter doors, if you care at all about your car not looking like **** or being able to put your window down.

how about instead of investing thousands into making ur car lighter and completly ruin the appearnace and comfort..u keep all of that and invest into performance mods to make up for the weight. i mean i paid alot of money for my car and i just dont see why i would wanna spend more money to get rid of the damn things i paid so much for.
