Weird Acceleration Problem!!!

EDIT: Just realized i put this in the wrong section, but when i accelerate it feels almost like a slow vibration. As if the car would rapidly be getting and then losing power. You can def hear it but you cant smell or or anything cos i only let it happen for a second.

If it is the belt, should I just buy a new belt or do i buy a smaller belt tensioner?

Hey Guys, Hows it going?

Havn't been on here in a while and I'm kinda in hurry but I really wanted t see if anyone knew the problem with my car. I just noticed today that when I accelerate at all beyond just normal driving my car sputters. Im pretty sure it is the belt slipping because i have the 2.9inch pulley on my s/c and have not got a new tensioner. I have had the 2.9 on my car for probably over a year and have never had problems with it.

Do you guys from previous experience think it is the belt just slipping? or could it be something more serious like the clutch slipping.

Any help would be appreciated, and once again sorry for not looking it up.

I doubt thats your belt. I think youd hear it slipping, or smell it slipping.

2.9 with the stage 2 belt should not be slipping. I have the 2.8 and mine is fine. Do you hear anything, smell? Any CEL? Does the car sputter then die if you stay on it?

My car only has 27000 miles on it and i put better plugs in it about a year ago. That would sure be nice if they was it.

I tried already to see if it would cut off and it didnt. It sputtered for a moment and then its fine after maybe 1 -2 secs of acceleration. It seems the opposite of a clutch problem because it doesn't catch down low but at higher rpm it does

what plugs did you put in? if they are copper NGK's they need to be replaced quite often(every 10,000 to 15,000 miles)

Just slap a new set of plugs in there anyway, they aren't expensive.

If it were to be the plugs. What would it usually tend to do when you are accelerating and they are not working propertly
