Went on the dyno today

So I went on the dyno today and I wasn't to impressed with my results at all. I have gm stage 2, nates 2.9 pulley, vibrant header/dp, GM performance cat back exhaust and the injen cold air intake. My highest hp was 222. Also after my 3 runs of vibrant header was glowing. I never seen a header glow like that before is this normal? What could be wrong with my car that I would be hitting that low.

was is a dynojet? or a mustang dyno? some dynos are set up to give you real world numbers so you will see less hp on the readings

yea, your header will get hot and turn red with all that heat passing through it. As with any metal, it will do that... if it got hot enough it would even turn purple.

Yea, I would say those numbers are pretty low for what you have done. How much psi are you hitting max? What's your redline at? Do you have your dyno sheet you could post up?

I will post my dyno sheet in the morning need to get to a scanner. I was red lining at 7K. I am hitting around 16 psi or so. When I was done everyone though I was stock which sucked.

Yah I know, something has to be wrong for me to be hitting that low. The guy operating the dyno asked me if I was stock so I knew my numbers had to be shitty. I was pretty upset with that.

have u had a chance to race against other comparable ss's? If so how did that turn out? Are u able to beat the stock ss/sc? Maybe his dyno is just way out or something.

and u know the rite peddle is the gas peddled eh? JK lol

get it tuned and you could probably see better numbers, also try getting 60s, you might be running out of fuel up top, hard to tell without seeing a dyno graph

07metallicSC i could see that if he was running a 2.8 pulley, the reg gm stage 2 is set a lil rich so it should be almost perf with the 2.9 pulley

thats the setup I had was a stage 2 with a 2.9 and it went lean at 5,000 up and I had to upgrade to 60s. Its rich down low but gets lean as hell up top.

Never raced another SS/SC yet. But when I put the header/dp and the 2.9 pulley I thought I lost power but needed the dyno to prove it. I am going to scan the sheet right now.

header should not be glowing red, only 2 things woul really cause that (which would contribute to thelow hp numbers)
#1 Car is running pig ass rich
#2 cat is clogged

sounds like your tune is very messed up if your lean up top witht he 42 pounders. stage 2 with a 2.9 should give you alot better numbers. since your in halifax im guessing your close to sea level like i ma and you should be putting more like 240 to the wheels if not more witht he mods you have

Whenever I've heard a of a header or headers glowing red, its because it has been running way too lean. I would say get bigger injectors

This sounds like a good idea before you start changing things around.
