At least do the supporting mods before the 2.9. That's what I did.
Intake and full exhaust before the 2.9 along with a tune afterwards.
Agree, car is much happier and you will be too.

I also have nates 2.9" pulley and I am very happy with it. Its alot lighter and the boost comes in quicker. Definatly worth the money

Mike
theres no way 1 lb of boost produces 10 WHP maybe 5 at the most

the more exhaust mods you have the less boost your gonna have , i had a 2.6 boosting 17.5 was my boost guage off ?? no i had full 3 inch exhaust from the header back and an intake , thats why some people will boost 20 lbs on a 2.6 is because they have stock exhaust

I run a 2.9 and I see 16 lbs all day long.
DC is barley 100% at the VERY top of each gear.
I think it is the safest smaller size pulley you can go.

But that is just my oppinion.

You'll be happier. So many of you just throw on a pulley first when you shouyld do supporting mods.
+rep, i have a 2.9 w/ tm removed and im completely satisfied w/ it now, i have the 60's and a 2.8 in my garage but i just dont feel a need for them after the tm was removed!

If anyone is interested I am selling my 2.9" pulley that I bought from nate and it fits the gm stage 2 hub. Only reason I will be selling is because I bought a 2.8 from him to go with my methanol injection. pm me if interested
