What Do You Run For Cat-Less Exhaust?
What Do You Run For Cat-Less Exhaust?
So my old exhaust setup was stock manifold, highflow cat, stock resonator, 2 1/2" rear section and a Magnaflow muffler.
I put my pacesetter header on last night and took the car over to the exhaust shop today. So now my new setup is, header, 3" exhaust back to where the stock resonator ended with a 3" resonator there now. Then it goes back down to 2 1/2" and the Magnaflow muffler.
It's pretty good driving around and stuff but when I get on it it gets VERY loud and buzy like bees. So I was thinking about getting another resonator put in. How much difference will it make in the bee sound? And will it quite it down much? I don't want to put another convertor on it.

Oh for sure, I have not got on it too much yet but it made a major difference from before. Fells like a totaly different animal!

i would say try to add another resonator first, are you running no cat? if so add the cat add see what that does. also try running no muffler and just dual resonators...it will be really deep but not as loud!
I don't have a cat on there. I don't want to have to buy one since my old high flow is 2 1/2" and my new Downpipe is 3". I'm gonna sell my old DP and buy another resonator probably. So I'll be running 2 resonator and a Magnaflow muffler. That would be less restriction then a highflow, resonator and muffler right?
No it's not a CA, now of my friends is a mechanic. I had him weld a pipe through the old cat but it was too loud so he put a dynomax highflow cat behind it. I'm sure this time that I want no convertor though.
Does anyone know what a "baffle bottle" is? I called the exhaust shop today and told him my car was way too loud and he said bring it back and he would take out the 3" resonator and put in a 3" baffle bottle. He said it would be quiter than having a highflow cat and a resonator and that it would flow better aswell. Anyone know?
I've desided to get a Magnaflow cat put on tommorow as much as I don't want a converter. I can stand it though, sounds like total ****.
Oh yeah, Trailer park boys. lol love it
