What else to do to the Stage II

Ok, so I just seperated from the wife and actually have money to put into my car now. I will be spending about $1000 a month until it gets nasty enough to scare me (may be a while).

Currently has a XTC CAI Intake, and the GM Stage 2. I am not really good at the whole "get these parts in this order to reach this power". Ideally i'd like to be putting down about 300WHP.

I do use this car as a daily driver, and it does have to stay street legal.

What should I do to reach that amount of power without losing (to much) durability.

Maybe i'm going off of a bad base number. I've never dyno'd, what is a Stage II putting down on the dyno typically?

I'd say your next mods with that 1k if you're going just for performance.....header, downpipe and exhaust. Will open the motor up nice, and give good gains!!!!

what kind of cooling? Like a dual pass, or something like a heat exchanger (no clue what it is, just remember reading on here about it.)

cobra h/e seems to be the most popular with great reviews. Duel bypass and Devils own meth seem to be needed when the car is heavily worked with a 2.5 pulley, 60s, etc...

the zzp header and dp is nice.....I have that with the dc sports 2.5" cat-back and love it.

as for cooling mods.....another heat-exchanger would be a nice addition, and help to keep the IAT2 temps. down for the fun driving you do

ok first, what is IAT2 temp? Duel Bypass, and Devils own meth, what all does that involve, is it dangerous like nitrous? What size is the stage 2 pulley, should I go smaller? If I go smaller, would I need injectors bigger than the stage II injectors?

I've found most of the stuff, but no clue what order to do it all in.

IAT2, intake air temp. sensor 2...pretty much the air temperature being forced into your motor. You want to keep that as cool as possible. Running more boost will heat the air up so you want the dual pass or added heat exchanger to cool the air charge up. As far as a smaller pulley, the smallest I would go is mayyyybe a 2.9" with the stage 2 injectors. But I would get a tune anyways.

What he said ^. To be safe, anything under 2.9 I would run 60s...

if I drop to the cobalt addiction 2.79", do I need to do anything with the belt? With a 2.79" and larger injectors, how soon after would I need a retune (no clue where to get one around here)

the stage belt will be fine the the 2.79. You would need a retune as soon as you put the new injectors in

With a CA HE, is a Dual pass nessecary? Running a 2.79" with 60lbs, would it be worth the extra money over the HE?

I wouldn't suggest going to 2.79 with 42 lb. injectors. I would stick with 2.9 until you're willing to get a custom tune. Also, the CA stage 2 style pulley is overpriced if you as me. You could have the same size for only 50.00 through www.smoothflowpulleys.com
