If you want to be exact Stage 2 = 3.06"
Stage 3 = 2.99"

or what shortstack said: Stage 2 = 77.9mm, Stage 3 = 76mm

i saw about 0.5psi increase from the stage 3 pulley. it brings out the torque a tad sooner and it boosts faster. not a huge increase, but it deff. pulls harder than it did when i had the stage 2 pulley on.

I used to see at least 1psi with my stage 3 pulley , when it was cold 1.5 . It definitely helps in the lower rpm ranges thou . My car liked .033 -.035 . The nice thing about the 76mm is it doesn't produce the heat a true 2.9 does , and even GM said it was safe for the stage 2 tune (stage 3 FAQ)

i deff. agree about the cold weather. i would see as much as 16.5psi on a cool night, but my avg. psi with the Stage 3 pulley has been 16psi and it used to be about 15.5psi with the Stage 2 pulley. Still its a great upgrade and like you said it doesnt create the same amount of heat as the 2.9 nor does it strain the 42lb/hr injectors as bad. after all the gm stage 3 kit is designed for the 42lbers.

Some say its ok to run the 2.9 on the GM Stage Tune & Injectors, but I wanted to be extra safe. As long as you dont beat on your car all the time, you should be fine with the 2.9. To get the most out of the 2.9, its best to get a custom tune and larger injectors (ie. 60 lb/hr).

As for the GM Stage 3 pulley .... you can buy a genuine one brand new on Crate Engine Depot's website for about $120. Or you can have another company make you one that looks just like the GM Stage 3 pulley for $50 or so. I'm still under warrenty and the GM Stage 3 pulley looks identical to the GM Stage 2 pulley, so i shouldnt have any problems with the dealership if i ever need warrenty work.

0.035" is a good place to start when you pulley down. 0.045" is much to large of a gap for a F.I. car.

For reference spark plug gaps are measured in thousandths of an inch not hundredths of an inch.

For those of you running 2.8" or below. TWO RANGES COLDER IS RECOMMENDED.

The one stage is just not cutting it, well for me atleast here in California.

For those of you that want to go ***** to the walls like Jmc007 with the 2.6" Pulley. Do yourself a favor and go with the 3 ranges colder plug.

I personally am a NGK guy, i've had a bad experience with Denso (but I know they are a great plug).

I used the Autolites for like a day and hated them. Car felt like ****..

Anyone with anymore information to add, please do so..
and stock my Ion LSJ manual shows .045"............................................. ........you must have made that .039 up

i made nothing up .... my 2007 Cobalt ss/sc manual says 0.039".

my plugs were gapped at 0.035" from the factory though, so who really knows the proper stock plug gap.
