Um.....What is taking GM so long to release (or leak) the pricing for these friggin' stage upgrades? Does anyone have any new info????? Also I was lok at the SEMA pics and was a little dissapointed that there were no pics of the engine for the time attack SS. Would like to see what the stage 2 parts wil look like. There were plenty for the gawdy looking wide body but none of the time attack.

It took years after GM announced the supercharger kit for the LD9 engine (2.4L Twin Cam) to be available to the public. I hope the same thing isn't happening here.

they obviously put them in road cars too as it gives a better representation of how they will act with normal driving not just racing

I'm positive there are quite a few staged cobalts being driven around by develpment engineers as we speak

I bought my car to play with and I knew that GM was talking about Stage packages.

Now I am get tired of the BS waiting game. If it wasn't for the terrible trade in values thanks to GM discount programs my SS would be gone allready.

the thing that i would ask yourself... why would a company that is severely hurting for money, wait a while to release equipment that will make money?

To make sure everything is right with the kit. Takes lots of work to release a new product to the market.

why do you say that. gms other supercharged cars run well over 100,000 miles. Thats with the v6's and I think the ecotec is stronger. I hope your wrong.

ok guys i have some questions for you but first id like to say that as you know the srt was originally to be slated as supercharged, but that and several other prototypes were scrap'ed in favor of the TD04LH Turbocharged model (the turbo is ungodly small) and from what i know between the 2-3 prototypes that were made 6yrs of R&D and engine research went into the SRT-4...im sure the ecotec engine was thought out and planned to be made...however is it plauseable that it wasnt originally planned to be slated with a S/C and chevy did this in response to the SRT so as to compete? this is all theory, one of many, i do not believe this is for sure what happened ....just a possibility. Thats why im glad for my own sake i didnt buy the 2003 model srt ....no lsd, 15 less hp...more "bugs" going on with it that got worked out in the 04' model again cobalt owners this is just observation, please dont take it to heart...i can chime in on other ideas, but thats a whole other thread. Reguardless the cobalts bad ass and i hope it proves to be a strong platform Sorry for the temporary Hijack

Nothing is going to come out till the first quarter of 2006. For those that want mods what did u think would happen with buying the first year of a new car. I agree that things are taking much longer then they should but im not touching my car till the snows gone anyways so i have no prob waiting.

I have only one question...I'm sitting here reading about how you guys are getting rid of your cobalts now, and getting srt-4s and mustangs simply because your stage kits aren't out yet? Why then, did you even bother buying the car in the first place? For the amount of money you spent buying the car, plus the cost of the stage upgrades and labor charges to install them, you could have easily bought an STI, or Evo, or SRT-4 to begin with. I have the 06 S/C, and yes, i'd like to see some upgrades come out, but I'm not hurtin for em, and I damn sure didn't let the prospect of staged upgrade kits dictate my purchase, which is exactly what sounds like happened with some folks. I'm not trying to flame, but some of these posts just sound ridiculous.

Who knows if that's true. GM's approach is to be warranty-able.

In time there will be plenty out for the Cobalt SS, it's already starting to show up in video games.
