THIS is what i want to do

ok guys in order to do what i want to do, i need to know one question. is the stage 1 kit reflash the same as the stage 2. because if they are i want to get stage 1 and buy my own 2.8 pulley, and if i were to do that could i just get a bigger idler pulley to pick up the extra slack for the supercharger belt. also do you think that this will effect the air to fuel ratio in a bad way, how conservative is the reflash, because if that makes performance worse maybe i will just go with the 2.9. please any kind of info would be helpful

How do you know if no one has access to the PCM as of yet? it may be the same part # but then again that could be just for any reflash in general.

So stage 1 raised your redline to 7000 rpms?

I thought someone posted two different numbers for stage 1 flash and stage two flash to give to your dealer if you install yourself.

I think the 2 flashes are different becasue the GM dealer has to tell the GM phone number they call to get verification if you have Stage 1 or Stage 2 and then they download it and flash the computer so they must be a little bit difference. I know there is only one part number for each model year flash but then there is options the dealer has to choose from.

Both the tec and the parts guy at my dealer said they have the same part# but are not the same reflash. I have no proof just waht I have been told.
The best way to find out is to order both stage one and two and install stage one with a 3" pully and dyno it. Then install stage 2 with the same pully on it and dyno it agen and see if they make the same #s.

The only real way we are going to know is if someone buys the stage 1-->2 upgrade and we see whether they get a reflash or not. Obviously if not then the flashes are the same but if they require a new flash then they have to be different.

The only drawback to this is if the dealer is dumb and just reinstalls what was already there, but the directions should state if there is a flash required or not.
