what mixture goes into h/e

people say water wetter, 50/50 dex cool/water, 50/50 water wetter/water. What is the correct mixture? Also I have seen the diagram for the h/e install, but wondering if it hooks up to the stock h/e or the radiator? I know alot of people call h/e's radiators and vice versus.

I'm running 50/50 water/dexcool.

This is how I installed it with my stock heat exchanger. IAT2s go up to 130-ish after afew wot pulls, but never go over 109 while cruising...

This is how I installed mine:

https://www.cobaltss.net/forums/2-0l-lsj-performance-tech-47/heat-exchanger-install-question-194753/

Nobody really said if it should go to the aftermarket h/e first or second...

50/50, but I have an 80/20 mix in mine with a dash of water wetter. I noticed a nice drop in IAT2's when I did this. Also, the 80/20 mix is safe for anything above 17*F. If you don't drive your car in the winter months (like me) it's a great mixture, because it still provides some freeze protection. If you drive your car year round keep the mixture at 50/50.

I put in a single bottle of water wetter, and then filled it with distilled water.

Doesn't what you put in it mix with the other h/e? Why would I put a whole shitload of water? 50/50 sounds good to me with a little water wetter. What does your guys coolant temps look like? Same?

Coolant temps aren't effected by the h/e system.

I drained mine first...

Water has the best cooling properties !! More % water = better cooling. Thats why my mixture is 80% distilled water 20% Dexcool. If it wasnt for the chilly PA nights in the Spring & Fall I would run 100% distilled water + 1 bottle of water wetter.

GM Racing uses straight distilled water w/ 1 bottle of water wetter. The water wetter helps with cooling, but its used more as a lubricant in this situation.

Not to thread jack, how much liquid capacity is there with Opt.B, and the new OTTP Big heat exchanger? Like 2L? But that combo sounds REALLY good.

sound like some crazy guerrilla math. seriously though it would be hard to get those exact measurements.. I guess rough estimate. right? My h/e you cant fill it, it doesnt have a filler on it, so I filled it from the thing in front by the sc.

Well, I'm very **** when it comes to numbers, so I made sure my mixture was exact. Buy a gallon of dexcool, and figure out the percentage of water needed to make your desired mix. It's not that hard
