That is correct. You could probably even wait a month afterwards. There is a safety factor involved, so technically the oil is still good when it first reaches 0%.

wow..i am shocked..i had NEVER hear of someone waiting till it said 0 % but that would definitely be a good brand oil then!!

You can use the lowest grade oil that meets the gm spec and it will be fine to change it at 0%. Do you think GM wasted years of engineering on nothing?

I use Moible 1 5W-30 becuase thats what it says.
