there is a minimal gain from boring out the sleeves. i suggest honing to get out the scratches and leave it at that

idk about new stuff but my dads 68 charger cracked a ring and all it needed was a .30 grind. honestly, there was alot more power in that 440 after the bore...4 more cyls tho

i agreee with blazin07

bore it enough to get the scratch out. You wont get much of a gain from boreing

You do not want to over bore this engine.

It will mess with the structural integrity.

the ecotec engines dont have very thick sleeves, the max id want to bore it is 0.010" over, anything past that and you should have the sleeves replaced.

If that much.

I would advise replacing the sleeve in that one cyl, much safer that way. There isn't a lot of material in these sleeves to begin with.

Yep.

The 'rebuild' was fucked anyway, each cylinder had a different compression readout then the rest. Always sounded funny when fully warmed up. Wanted to stall at times when coming to a full stop. Instead of messing with warranty this time I'm gonna order diamonds, cometic head gasket and the arp studs. I can't get my header or hpt cable now either so I figure I'll head up to Paul if he doesn't mind and have him tune it the right way.
