What size is the stock pulley

What size is the stock pulley on SS/SC and what size is the Stage 2 . I,m still trying to understand the size of the pulley how it affects the overall horsepower and Boost?

stock is 3.3" and stage 2 is 3.0 . I havent verified , but the general rule Ive read is 1 lb is boost gained per tenth of the pulley ( ie 3.3= 12.5 peak boost / 3.0 = 15.5 / 2.8=17.5 ect ect) How free flowing you intake is , and how free flowing your exhaust is will skew those boos#'s though . Freeing up on the intake side of the supercharger can "slightly" increase boost . Having a free'er flowing exhaust like a header , DP or catback will decrease boost pressure .

Thankyou that helps me understand more about that. i'm thinking about going with a smaller pulley than the 3.0. is it ok or is there something i need to watch out for

I have stage 2 and K&N CAI !

Do some searching in this forum . You will pull alot of useful info , there a million threads about stg 2 with smaller pulleys . In a nut shell though......Before you buy a smaller pulley , understand air/fuel ratio and why u should really buy a scan tool and wideband air/fuel guage before you get a smaller pulley . You should be re-tuned for smaller pulley as well . A 2.8 pulley in cold winter air with the stock stg 2 tune can run lean enuff to hurt stuff at 3/4 throttle or more

The wide band gauge is about 3-400 and a bit over 200 for a Aeroforce scan guage . Its alot , but knowing whats goin on with your car will save your ass down the road .

the stage 2 is slightly over a true 3", i would go with a 2.9 that fits the stage 2 hub. I think cobaltperformance cen help you out there.

You can go to a 2.8 on the GM hub, but there are alot of questions whether or not it is good to run the 2.8 with the stage 2 42# injectors. Most(me being one of them) people are seeing over 100% injector duty cycle.

Again IDC's mean nothing with out a wide band because the GM 2 flash runs rich so if you told it to run not as rich with HPT theoretically your IDC's would go lower. I lot of this goes hand in hand with where your A/f's are at though. IDC"s IMO are based more on how much fuel enrichment your looking for not all about how much your injector can give evn though that is a factor too. Matter fact you need to look at all variables at the same time to come to any real conclusion.

I agree, I was just putting it out there for consideration that it was a debate, i still haven't jumped on either side of the argument. Hopefully today I will get a chance to check out the AFR with the duty cyle to see if it can safely be leaned out any.

I am DEF not trying to turn this thread into another discussion about this topic though.

Toughest part about the Wideband install is gettin the cables through the firewall, assuming you can connect to a power and a ground. However you are going to have a new O2 bung installed (the AEM gauge comes with one, not sure about the others). The interceptor install is even easier since you don't need to find a ground just a power source and plus it into the computer port.
