g85 isnt really relavent to wheel hop. its a problem everyone experiences to one degree or another.

the quickest, cheapest, easiest fix available is the "ingalls stiffy torque damper"
quite a few vendors on this site have them available, and they really cut down on that wheel hop.

there are more complex and effective methods....Traction bars...solid mounts....cabs etc...

biggest thing to remember though? race or not.....1/4 mile run or not....if you feel it wheel hop..GET OFF THE GAS. it can/has and will break ****. even on stock cobalts.

ZZP Billet Tranny mounts, ZZP Poly engine mount, and an Engine Dampner would be a good start. Be warned though that w/o the LSD and the potential for wheel spin still in the mix you risk serious damage to your differential and associated parts. If you can and are willing to, then buy the LSD and get that installed first. Theres some xmas shopping that needs to be done for myself and that will most likely be my investment.

yeah quick fix is the dampers, but engine mounts works real good, but then you have alot more vibratiopn comming from the engine. The real solution is learn to drive wisely, (dont floor your car in 1rst gear, quickly press the gas till your close to redline, then shift to 2nd and floor it then. No wheel hop, and you should be just as fast as anyone with the same modds as you with the solid engine mounts. Just learn to drive wisely, its hard but u'll get it. I am still perfecting the system to!

Hear that on the mounts. Just put in my mounts last Friday and then endured the 4 horu drive into PA. wow did that give me a headache. The vibration is intense. Do not keep coins in your car, or empty cans. The noise gets to be too much with the stereo at 3/4 just to hear it when taking off or slowing down.

Yeah, see you confirm what i heard. I was going to get some to facilitate the launching, but i can have a car vibrate that much since my normal driving is mostly highway. Ingalls I heard work well in not extreme condition. I heard a few that broke before....

i have no wheel hop at all with the Ingalls torque damper. definitely fixes the problem and doesnt vibrate too much on the stock setting.

i have heard of them bending as well; however, this has not happened to me. If something goes wrong, im sure Ingalls would be happy to work with you.

Specifically , wheel hop can break an axle , can cause the transmission case to fracture ....which can lead to gear oil leaking on the clutch , causing a slipping clutch too ect ect . I guess that cant be said enuff , because so many people just wheel hop the hell out of FWD cars and dont realize just what can and eventualy will happen .

I put a ingalls torque brace in the short term . It took away about maybe 60% of the wheel hop on the tightest setting . But in the rain , I can still get my car to wheel hop easily if the tires spin and at the dragstrip , though its worlds easier to control with the ingalls ....if I dont watch it I still get bad wheel hop . If you dont plan on modding your car too much past a few bolt ons , youll be fine with a torque brace and some disciplined driving habits .

The ultimate solution is the poly mounts though if ya plan to getting serious with the car .

The motor mount alone will do hardly anything for you . But , the stock fluid mount is beyond bad so it should replaced anyways . The biggest helpers for wheel hop are the lower control arm bushings and the 2 lower trans mounts .

All of them together are kinda pricey , but a new trans is about $2000 ....and thru GM , getting a F35 trans isnt exactly a qwik process .
