there is a bracket holding the intercooler pump in place. Remove the top bolt and the bottom bolt and the intercooler pump will fall down. Remove the two heater hoses then replace the new ic pump and bolt it back in

and there is a harness that plug into the IC pump.. so take top bolt off, take bottom bolt off, remove harness, remove 2 heater hoses, take a bunch of coolant to the face, and then do it all backwards. Plug in harness, bolt it up, and then attach the heater hoses.

Try and clamp them off before doing this.

be ready to fight with removing the hoses if this is the first time the pump has been changed. i think there is a little adhesive on there from the manufacturer. not impossible though. good luck.

^ This, the last owner already cut my hose and it was still a pain. If you ever remove the hoses from the H/E theyre even worse

Are there any upgraded options that have a lesser fail rate? I see all this talk about them failing and would like to replace mine with a better unit so I never have to worry about it.

i was under the car checking things out and the engine was still hot.. man the pump was roasting, I realized that cant be good for the life of the pump and im sure its heating up the water. the aluminum bracket that holds it just transfers all the heat from the block. we need a phenolic spacer for the pump like there is for the intake.
