I want to get stage 2 by the end of the year, but if I'm not going to get 7000 rpm out of it, then **** it.
true but with such a pig rich setup I am sure better tuning could account for more power sooner which is kinda what people get with hptuner tunes. I will know soon so it should be answered this afternoon.

uh, guys...anyone notice that stage 1 is rated at 230HP @6800RPM's......kinda hard to rate that with a 6450rpm redline, right?

Its posted most everywhere that has the power ratings...

Something is definitely screwey here, most likely they gave this poor kid a calibration that fixes the idle surge and not stage 2....

You shouldnt experience any slip with that new belt. Just look at the boost gauge if it slips the needle will dip. I allways get that split second hesitation especially in second when I go from 2000rpm to full throttle but thats just lag.

It is fine to drive around for a bit if need be before you get the flash. All you are doing is dumping excess fuel with the larger injectors. The stock ECU shouldn't allow anything above 12.5 PSI to pass through, so the only real difference is that your car is dumping more fuel than it thinks becasue of the larger injectors.

Of course you should get the flash ASAP as that is where all the fun of th upgrade is hidden. But I did my install on a Saturday, and didn't get the reflash until Monday morning. I didn't drive it much, but enough to ensure that everything was properly installed.

And Back2GM BLKSS is right, you shouldn't be seeing any belt slip at all. I don't even have any with my 2.8" on with the stg 2 belt.

That's the first thing that popped in my head - there's the reflash out there for the idle surge, and I bet that's what they gave him. I'm not doubting the tech, but maybe the dude he called gave him the wrong info for the flash...definitely gotta do it again.

If there is an issue it would have to be at the end during the confirmation so the tech dudes have nothing to do with it with this new 'live' server they are using. Still awaiting a call on this subject will keep you posted it is nearly 10 here so 2 hours still before I am expecting the call

When I got my stage flash in June there was the idle surge thing on my bill along with like 4 or so other things added, but that was on top off the stage flash. The 4 or so things added were just updates to the PCM. They had nothing to do with the flash.

im wondering if maybe the guys on the other end of the phone call are actually screwing this up. Maybe when I talk with the master tech I could have him do the older method of flashing the computer using the vci method by calling the tachline

NEWS FLASH...

So I'm on Lunch break... I drive over to LaRiche Cheverolet here in Findlay. Ask for the Tech that did my install.

"Hey how ya doing?"

"Fine, got a couple questions for you... first off, which part number did you use when you did the reflash on my car?"

"Reflash? There was no reflash... didn't know I needed to."

"Yeah........ It's right here in the instructions."

"Oh... well, you'll have to set up another appointment to get that done. I didn't know I had to do one."

WHAT THE F%@K!!!

FURY - EXTREME FURY! MOTHER F@&KERS HAD MY CAR FOR 8 HOURS... 8 F&%KING HOURS AND THEY DIDN'T REFLASH IT! WHAT THE F&@K!!!

Actually, since it is above 5252 RPM a 'little' torque will add more (number-wise) HP.

There was an INTERNAL SERVER ERROR. It may take up to a week to have it corrected on GM's side but after that anyone that has had it installed that isn't experiencing the 7k rpm limit should go in to get it fixed. back2gm got his fixed today using the older vci method and has the paper work on the updates which I will provide to everyone as well after work when I pick up the information

The engineering team has recognized that there is an internal server error which was causing people to get an incorrect flash for their gm stage 1-2 kits.

What I'm saying is that you'll need 196 tq at 6450 rpm to make the advertised 241 hp of stage 2. At 7000 rpm, you only need to have 180 tq. Stage 2 at 6450 is probably around 185, as it's already on the decline at that point. 11 ft-lb of torque may not seem like much, but it's a lot for just a tune. It's not like we can crank up the boost. (fwiw, the normal tune for stage kits does not increase torque at all - stage 1 is rated at the same torque as stock)

Regardless, problem solved as Oni pointed out. Enjoy your 7000 rpm Back2GM!
