White Plumes of Smoke From Exhaust

Guys,

Need some help here.

I brought the car to the dealer today to have an oil change, balancing, rotation, and headlight placement fixed.

I got the car back, and about 2 miles down the road, I notice that when I shift and accelerate, I'm blowing white/grey plumes of smoke from my exhaust. I havent used the NOS since yesterday, and this problem wasn't present then. I also installed my CAI yesterday as well.

Any clues on what's causing the smoke?

if they put too much oil in the car it could be burning the extra oil off. that could be the reason for the smoke

white smoke usually means you're burning coolant to me.

white smoke most likely means you are running lean if you have gotten any kind of aftermarket pulley...check the boost gauge next time you see it and see if something is funky.

Yeah, white smoke is either coolant or possibly condensation burning off, blue smoke is oil.

Yeah if it persists or gets worse look at a blown head gasket. If it is a head gasket watch out for overheating and problems with the engine controling its temp.

The longer you wait to bring it back to the dealer the more plausible it becomes that it wasn't there fault.

Go back there now!

Pretty dense. However, I ran the car down to 1/2 tank just to see if the gas was ****, and sure enough, it cleared the problem up.

I'll take it back to the dealer 1st thing in the am.

how concerned are you about the warranty?.... cuz if you dont have to take it to the dealer, dont.

if the problem is gone, i wouldnt worry about it too much anymore. if something happens again tho, dont even hesitate to go back and point fingers.

if it's dense white smoke it's more than likely oil, which would mean bad/blown ring(s)

take it in and have them run a compression check on the engine
