You will get a CEL for he rear O2 sensor but if you have HPT you can stuff of that code so the light doesnt come on. If you have a cat your wideband readings will be off also.

You could remove the cat, and replace it then, other wise it won't give accurate readings.

The wideband has to go before the cat. Otherwise it will be useless to tune with.

can i just replace the front o2 sensor with the wideband sensor? i'd rather not weld in a new spot for this sensor unless i have to.

A buddy of mine did this. Personally, I wouldn't do it. I would much rather buy the aftermarket downpipe that I like the best and then before you install it, weld in another 02 bung.

Your fuel trims are based offf the front O2 sensor. If you just throw your wideband in your car won't be able to adjust its STFT and LTFT. Knock the cat out and put it in the second bung or have another bung put in precat.

Great, another giant hastle all thanks to emissions testing. I'm glad he asked that question because I would have had no idea other wise. So I guess in order to keep your car emmisions legal you have put in another bung before the cat?

is there a way to get an accurate reading from a wideband with a cat and not having to weld anything?

You need to have the wideband before the cat. Now how you get it there is by either removing a stock o2(need something to eliminate cel and tune) or to weld the bung on there. Depending on what wideband kit you get some come with the bung and some dont. Getting it welded on should not cost you anymore then $35.00. If your going to spend that much on a wideband just have someone weld in the proper bung.

Does the AEM wideband UEGO have the ability to function as a normal front o2 sensor ?

Everyone keeps saying to just add the bug and install the wideband but no one is expaining how that comunicates to the ECU so you can datalog and pull the information while tuning. With the AEM UEGO the cable gos directly from the sensor to the gauge. That means it is not connected to the ECU in anyway shape or form. You will see the AF on the gauge but it will not be in the datalogs.

I know some people can just swap out the stock O2 with a wideband. Is that not possible with the LSJ?

How do you get the reading from the wideband (if you add a second bug) to the computer so it will be read in the datalog?

I am having my car tuned by Trifecta this week via datalogs over email and at this point have no way to get them AF values.

Even if you hooked your wideband up using the simulated narrowband output like the lc-1 has the ecu is only going to use the narrowband data. The LC-1 has a separate output that can be hooked up via serial port to your laptop and it comes with software for logging. I'm sure other widebands have something similar but I've only used the LC-1.

Best way I can put it is your car is looking for a narrowband secondary sensor. You go replacing it with a wideband, you change the voltage from 0-.5 to 0-5v iirc. Your pcm will be confused! Add a bung, easiest and most elegant solution.

So you keep your stock O2 in and add a wideband that connects to a source depending on the brand AEM, LC-1, exc. That then connects to your PC along with the main cable for data Logging.. Makes sense..

My boy had a RSX and all he had to do was swap the stock O2 with a Wideband and plug in a Kpro and he was done. They made it look simple.lol

Well maby someone can help with my problem - I am ZZP stage 2 with a reflash, 2.9 pulley, #42 injectors and have a 3" Hahn catback. I need to keep the cat because I live in NJ and have inspection soon. I am blowing a little black smoke from the dig after idle which means I am running rich but yet I kick a random PO171 Lean code while crusing. I want to get a real tune via trifecta but was realy looking to have AF info for Vince when he helps with data logging.

What would everyone recomend me do? I have the AEM UEGO and wideband in a box ready to go back to ZZP.

You can data log with that setup. I think you just need a null modem cable. If you bought it from ZZP I'm sure they will be happy to assist you in getting it setup like you want.
