wideband sensor placement

I have a 2006 ss/sc that is getting the TVS makeover this weekend (pending this wideband being installed). My only concern is that the sensor is supposed to be 18 - 24inchs from the heat source (exhaust ports) but also supposed to be before the cat. I have stock exhaust manifold and stock dp with cat, and it seems like there is not enough space from the heat source to put the sensor in. or would i be ok putting right in front of the cat, like almost touching the cat? i know i know, i need a header and dp, but funds wont allow it at this point. its a work in progress so i will eventually get a header/dp combo but it will take a few months. thanks for the help fellas!

ahh, good call. i got the ok to put the header on the credit card, so the header shipped this afternoon. one thing at a time though. itll take a while to get the down pipe. i can't decide, downpipe or meth injection? neither will happen til late july or august at the earliest though.

Meth injection will need a 250$-350$ tune along with it. The header and DP should be but it isnt needed as much as the meth.
