Will There Ever Be Any Performance Upgrades For This Car?

I am looking to buy one, but I am not sure because there are no power upgrades so far. I want to buy this car, to tune it, up the HP, and run in the 13's or quicker. Right now, there is no CAI (except the one for the redline, but a specific SS one would be nice), no one has tried the pullies to see if they work, no exhaust system is out, no supercharger upgrades, not anything to enhance the outside or interior or the car. Right now, it is a car car. So, maybe somebody knows something I don't know. I can name 20 parts for a SRT4, but not even 10 for the SS. Please inform me of anything, besides body kits, for the interior, exterior, but most important, power numbers...

You have to remember the SS has only been out for a few months. They didnt start to mass produce them till the first week in May. You will have to give it atleast 6 months to give companies a chance to get hold of one. There have been people waiting 6-8 months to get them and are just now recieving them.

Wow, calm down alittle there! The SS is only a few months out, some dealership have yet to even see one of their let alone Tuning companies having them to R&D already! The boom for the SS has big enough to assume its safe to say by late summer you will start seeing the goodies hitting the market! Before you know it there will be 101 posts of the "which X should I go with?"

In due time...

See my whole dilema is, buy the car this summer, an 06', and put little down, and have huge payments, or wait till next summer, when i can put around $11,000 down, get an 07' which may have new stuff, and there will be a lot of mods out by then. Sorry, I thought the SS's have been out for months now, but I guess that was the regular Cobalt. Oh well, I just test drove it and I want the car NOW. but I guess the smartest thing would be to wait till next summer...

I just did a whole thread in the Discussion section on pricing. I know what I have to pay and such. I dont own any POS cars, sorry. My dad has a 91 Firebird Forumla 350hp, showcar... and I have a 98 Camaro which is in mint condition. I would sell the Camaro though if I got an SS....

Well for starters it has basicly the same engine as the 2.2L Eco Cav thats been out for 3 years. You can buy pistons, rods, crank, headgasket, valvetrain parts. You could port and polish the head. If you were local to us we can make you a cat-back system in 3 hours. Injens cold air intake releases on the 15th of this month. If these cars use the gertrag transmission then you can get clutch's and flywheels from Clutchmaster, ACT, SPEC, Unorthodox, Fidanza, and more. I talked to Versus today and they said they will have a bodykit out by september. Soon you will have plenty of parts to choose from.
