Wondering Something.

What would cause IAT1's to be much higher then ambient air. Generally my IAT1's are within a couple degrees of ambient air, and my iat2's are around 20-30 degrees higher then my iat1's while cruising.

I know my intercooler pump is on its way out and it has had the hammer mod done a couple times now, but what would cause iat1's to be say 30 degrees higher then ambient temps?

They aren't very accurate. I've seen them read 30 degrees over ambient on a car that just sat overnight and hasn't been started yet. We've also compared them with more accurate test equipment and found 30-40 degree discrepancies.

Yea its kind of odd, sometimes it seems like my iat1's are higher then they should be. I do know my intercooler pump was on its way out, or I should say IS on it's way out however I did the hammer mod and forced it on with hptuners and all seems well. However if I do multiple multiple pulls my iat2's even with meth get outta hand so I either need to just replace that pump or keep an eye on things.

But thanks matt, I was just wondering why iat1's are sometimes higher then ambient air for no apparent reason lol.
