Alright, when I woke up this morning i went and took my car out, I was driving along and i hear this scraping noise near my rear back tire, anyways I get out and see that the plastic cover that goes in the wheel well is loose and scraping agaisnt the tire. There were 4 of the plastic push in bolts missing off of it, so i go home and search through the snow and find the 4 bolts and one round plastice disk ( dunno what it was), so i put the bolts back where they belong.. Now im woundering how the F*** those could of fallen off, my guess was someone tried to steal something.. but what good would that do to take my tire well cover?? is it thief? do they fall off often? just need some input!!

 

Did someone back into you? Sounds like someone was fooling around with your car! Those push retainers do not back themselves out. Sounds like you need to keep gaurd on your car!!!

 

I dont think those clips just fall out by themselves... either somebody took them out or somebody bumped into your car and knocked them out... but if somebody hit your car hard enough to knock those out... you would of seen it..

 

Hmm, that would suck if someone was messing but it just seems so stupid that they would take those things out? I live in a really quiet neighborhood and my car is secluded in a culdisack so its very strange

 

i have a hard enough time getting those damn clips off my self.

 

sounds like someone was messing around, those clips don't just fall out, and normally when someone bumps you they break!

 

Someone was trying to stick a dead skunk in back of the wheelwell...

You haven't had it in for service have you where they may have needed to take the plastic part out? That's the only other thing I can think of, because typically those plastic push things are one time use only, so if someone was working up underneath there and decided to reuse them, then yeah, they could have fallen out because they're not supposed to be reused. A friend of mine lost his driver's side front plastic piece because he re-used the clips and they snapped off.
