it wasn't just the launch, if i remember correctly you burned it through the shifts too. plus, you used to keep your foot on the clutch, because you didn't know it was bad. maybe you're just doing something that is bad for the car, without even knowing it. it's very possible. not knocking by the way, just saying it's very possible.

cobaltvenomss - the posters and shirts aren't going to make a difference but im sure you knew that. I would try and do a 3rd gear only run and see how you do. That way neither of you are shifting, so the driver mod is taken out of the aspect. If you win, then you know its your driving. If he still wins then you know somethings up or you are somehow heat soaking way to much, which shouldn't be the case.
as soon as we started in 2nd he pulled a car...its like i was stock and he had the mods..

Every 5 to 10 minutes will kill, yes. But 30 minutes is still pretty bad. When the car is just sitting there... the Intake Mani heats up and IAT2's get to be around 150* or so when I start her back up and run it again.

When was the last time you changed your plugs?

If you are still under warranty... take it in and ask them to Reflash it for you. Just tell them it is running weird and you want to get the tune checked. Don't mention racing of course.

Get on the interstate late at night and do a 3rd and 4th gear pull. 4th gear was where I STEAMROLLED a stock one on the interstate.

buy a scan gauge venom, that way you can monitor your IAT and knock retard and such.

WHOA... delete what I was gonna say.

Check your Intercooler pump. Turn on your car and make sure the coolant is flowing.

Mine died last year... it'll seriously **** your car up when it comes to going fast.

Who was in your car? Anything in your trunk?

What about his car? Any passengers?

Weight makes a BIG difference. Just having my 120lbs fiance in the car is a difference of winning by 3 cars or winning by 1/2 a car against my friends SRT-8 Jeep.
maybe, lol. 40mph 2nd gear.

maybe his car is like mine. magical 07 cobalt lol

No. The intercooler system doesn't have a coolant monitor. That pump can, AND WILL, stop working without you knowing. Start up the car and look at the fill tube. If its bubbling... then it is working... if its not bubbling... then it probably isn't working.

IF, you need a new one and aren't under warranty... then order one of these from Ford Racing. Its the Exact same pump. It'll cost you $89 on eBay from Ford. It'll cost you $400 from Chevy.

I wish I could help you more on the subject... but I leave in 2 hours and won't be back till the 20th.

One other possibility, when I but the Gm honed manifold with my stock downpipe I lost power, put on a custom downpipe, and gained it back plus more. The downpipe with stock manifold might not work well together.

It's possible you could have damaged something from the wreck and it was not fixed. What kind of wreck were you in, what was changed, where was most of the damage?

It may not seem like a lot but you would be shocked at what temps can do to power. I would look into a methanol kit, a heat exchanger, dual pass etc. Cooling mods help a ton, especially when you live in a hot a$$ state like texas.

It will feel like a whole new car to you.
Sorry man 20 degree hoter IATs aren't going to lose THAT much power... maybe 5 hp MAYBE...

maybe its my injectors idk

mods are in sig but im not on the 2.85

any help?????
Not being a dick but...maybe you just suck at driving? What plugs/gap do you have...when I gapped too low the car ran really shitty, worse than with the 2 step iridiums but I shouldn't have been running those in the first place. Do 1 step colder (autolite 3922) at .035-.036 and you should be good.

Idk...there's a ton of things it could be...if it were me I'd check my boost gauge to make sure everything is kosher

Nah...you can whomp on these cars every day without damaging too much (ie tires)...I think the damage comes from *gasp* bad drivers. If you're constantly smashing into the redline, going into curves at 80mph, jumping over speed bumps over 30mph, and generally driving like a douchebag parts are going to wear out quickly.

Something is wrong then because I have the stage 2 with airbox mod (stock everything else) and the car rips. I can pin it in 2nd and the tires will break loose. Never did that when I was stock, lol.
