Well, I have searched and searched and searched and cant seem to find a consistent answer. I am looking at my options for my recently acquired ss/sc and just cant seem to find what the best option is. I don't plan on doing a full cat-back exhaust as I dont see the need to replace a 2.5" system with another 2.5" system therefore i was gonna do what people have been referring to as an axle-back and replacing the 2.25" with 2.5" and an aftermarket muffler. I cant seem to figure out what a good choice is between flowmaster (40, super 40,etc.), magnaflow, borla, etc, etc. What about running no muffler. I realize it will probably sound like ass, but what are the performance gains or losses if any? Any organized input would be appreciated. I am confused as to what to do. Thanks!

You'd probably loose some low end torque but make it up in the top end. I'm doing a custom side exit exhaust with a flowmaster outlaw series race muffler that only takes off a few decibles from open exhaust and has virtually no exhaust restriction. I would run this because you can get in trouble for not having a muffler depending on where you live, now no one said the muffler had to do anything I should be doing this sometime in the near future, so I'll let you know how it works out.
